Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne (神風怪盗ジャンヌ Kamikaze Kaitō Jannu?, also known as Phantom-Thief Jeanne,) is a fantasy shōjo manga series written and illustrated by Arina Tanemura. The story is about the adventures of a high school girl, Maron Kusakabe, who is the reincarnation of Jeanne D'Arc and transforms into a magical girl kaito—phantom thief—to collect the scattered pieces of God's power which are also coveted by demons hiding in beautiful art works.

The manga was published by Shueisha in Ribon between February 1998 and July 2000. The individual chapters were collected and published in seven tankōbon volumes. Ai Yazawa, the famous shoujo (girl manga) author, was born on March 7, 1967 in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. Her literary nickname comes from a Japanese singer, Eikichi Yazawa. She started publishing manga in 1985 resulting in over 10 series in Ribon so far. While most of her manga still circulates in Japan, series like Paradise Kiss now come up in magazines such as Zipper.

The English-speaking know Yazawa mostly for I'm Not an Angel, Neighborhood Story, Paradise Kiss, and Nana. In 2003 the latter got the Shogakukan Manga Award as the best girl manga.

Yazawa's manga appeals basically to the female audience as her plots tend to describe girl society. The characters are very stylish thanks to the author's deep sense of fashion. They're also standalone, often rebellious.

In Embraced by the Marine Blue Wind published in 1990 the heroine has to choose between love and friendship... Tachibana works at a beach cafe, wandering in the sands with her dog. Her friend Ippei loses a surfing challenge to a newcomer who shockingly appears Arikawa, her 1st love and heartbreak. After 4 years he's back from the U.S. thinking Tachibana doesn't like him. I'm Not an Angel (1992) features a senior pupil, Midori Saezima, falling in love with a handsome and caring fellow at 1st sight. After accidentally entering the student council, she eventually runs into and has a love affair with the mysterious boy there. As new top students, they are about to change school ways and develop their relations.

1995 saw the Gokinjo Monogatari release. Its characters Mikako, Tsutomu and their friends attend a high art school in Tokyo. Mikako and Tsutomu live next door being friends since childhood. In their relationship they overcome high school.

Bakemonogatari centers on Koyomi Araragi, a third year high school student who is almost human again after briefly becoming a vampire. Takemoto lives in a run-down student apartment, where his greatest worry is when hell next be able to afford to eat meat and whether hell get to class on time. Along with his crazy cast of friends, Takemoto sets out to discover life and his true self. Set in a Tokyo art college, Honey and Clover blends comedy and pathos to bring to life a very unique set of individuals. Professor Hanamoto is off in Mongolia on a research trip, and Hagu is having a hard time coping. The gang do their best to help her out, especially Takemoto. But as graduation threatens to alter their friendships forever, Hagu begins to turn toward Morita... Personal Review: Honey and Clover, Volume 3 (v. 3) by Chica Umino
A fantastic manga series thus far. There are definitely a lot of positive things you can say about the Kodansha Award winning manga series "honey and clover" by Chika Umino. Having spawned an anime series, a live drama and film, it's no surprise that many men and women have enjoyed "honey and clover" and now available from Viz Media via their Shojo Beat imprint is "honey and clover". The third volume of "honey and clover" still manages to keep the humor of the storyline about three guys and two young women, friends who attend an art school. Some have since graduated and started their own careers and some that are now in their Senior Year and thus knowing that once everyone graduates, this close friendship that they have, these parties they celebrate each year, it may be over. The series does get a bit more serious as this volume focuses on the friendships of each of the five characters but also trying to figure out where each of their lives are headed. What I find charming about "honey and clover" is the realism of the various storylines. It's more or less a drama, a romantic comedy and each of the characters are enjoyable and many people can relate to. Chapter 16 revolves Hagu and Morita. Yuta starts to notice that Morita likes Hagu and he likes her as well but is not good at expressing his emotions. Chapter 17 takes place around Christmas time and Ayumi's parents shop is not really doing so well. So, the friends decide to help Ayumi with Hagu actually becoming a temporary employee and uses her talented art skills to create something that would attract people to the shop. Chapter 18 features the friends going on a mini-cruise via the waterbus. Meanwhile, Mayama confronts Takemoto regarding his feeling about Hagu and why he doesn't fight for her if he really loves her. Chapter 19 marks the return of Professor Hanamoto and everyone learns how badly Hanamoto has missed Hagu in Mongolia. Chapter 20 takes place in the Spring. Hanamoto talks to Morita about completing his final project so he can graduate, meanwhile Hagu looks saddened. Morita sees her and he decides to take the first step in how he feels about her. Chapter 21 continues from the last storyline. Hanamoto and Takemoto feel that something must have happened between Morita and Hagu. Hagu is just in bad shape and hasn't put any effort into her work and appears to be depressed. Meanwhile Takemoto encounters Morita's brother and learns
that Morita has left to Los Angeles and may not be back for months or longer. Takemoto is not sure if he wants Morita to come back. Also, included is a side story featuring Hagu and Ayumi in a "pukkun and milky tea" storyline. The two sew their own pukkun (a cover for hot water kettles) and give them to their parents. The other storyline is the final "Otaku House Call" and how Umino and staff will change the name to "Umino and Her Friends" and concluding the manga is a "Honey and Clover Study Guide" featuring an explanation of certain location, talent and words such as "Shiso", talent such as Nae Yuki and "Coming of Age Day". The third volume of "honey and clover" again manages to win people over because of it's fun and enjoyable storyline. Of course, things are getting much more serious now as Mayama is now a salary man, Takemoto is graduating soon and everyone has their fun together but there is a little sadness that their circle of friends is winding down as soon, each of them will go their own way in their personal lives and careers. For Takemoto, he's been such a shy guy but he realizes how Hagu has made him happy and how much he cares for her but yet doesn't have the guts to communicate those feelings. If anything, just making Hagu happy is enough. As for Hanamoto, his relationship with Hagu at first seemed like father and daughter like relationship but when you realize how much the two missed each other each day, it makes you wonder. But things change this time around. Morita has made the first step in declaring his emotions for Hagu but at the same time, bailing out and leaving Japan while Hagu, is confused and depressed. It will be interesting to see what happens within that love triangle and with Morita gone, will Takemoto become a man who will tell Hagu how he feels about her or will he continue like he always has. It's definitely setting things up between Takemoto-Hagu-Morita for the fourth volume which I find quite exciting. Although "honey and clover" is a "Shojo Beat" title, this is not a manga strictly for females. The story involves men and women and the complexity they face in their lives. May it be graduation, what to do after graduation or the emotions that they feel inside but somehow, finding difficulty to express them. "honey and clover" is a well-told drama ala manga series and it's no surprise whey this manga series has had a live drama, anime series and film adaption. The storyline is enjoyable and there is an innocence to the storyline that we all can relate to. Also, it's a fun manga series that is well written and well drawn and I'm impressed with how much Umino is able to include with each and every chapter.
Volume 3 continues that fun and beautiful storyline, a bit more serious this time around. But still quite enjoyable! Another recommended volume in the "honey and clover" manga series! In the manga series, the story revolves around three guys who live in an apartment complex and attend an art school. They are: Yuta Takemoto: One of the primary characters, Takemoto is the youngest of the guys and majoring in architectural design. He seems to have a ho- hum life but is the normal guy of the group who has taken a liking to the gifted artist Hagumi. Shinobu Morita: A carefree, does whatever he wants type of guy. Very cool but very strange. A gifted sculptor who has attended the University for years, has not graduated but tends to make money doing freelance work and constantly on the move. He is drawn to Hagumi because she reminds him of a Koropokkur (a leprechaun or fairy) that he actually takes pictures of her in situations and puts it on the Internet and promoting her as one. Takumi Mayama: Mayama is the quiet type. A senpai for Takemoto and works at a design firm in which he likes the owner Rika. Although he knows that he'll never get that close to Rika, he somewhat does what he can for her. He is also the guy that Morita turned to when he needed help but now Mayama has passed the duty on to Takemoto. Professor Hanamoto: Just like one of the guys, Hanamoto is the guardian of Hagumi and more or less like an advisor to the students. He attended the same art school with best friend and roommate Harada who dated a woman named Rika. The three were inseperable and both Harada and Rika got married. But after Harada's death, he continued to help care for Rika who is now the boss at a design firm that Mayama works at. Characters also featured are: Hagumi: A shy, gifted sculptor who is being taken care of by her uncle, Professor Hanamoto. She is not very talkative and very, very short. She is almost like a little girl but she's actually 18 and her cuteness makes everyone in a good mood. She does have a hard time knowing that so many people expect a lot of things from her because of her talent but also knows that because of dedicating her life to that talent, she doesn't live a normal life like the other girls in school. Ayumi Yamada: Yamada aka "Iron Man" is another gifted student at the art school who is madly in love with Mayama. She knows that he is not
interested in her but she takes it hard and sometimes can't tolerate his attitude but she does because she's so in love with him. She's very blunt, very beautiful, very athletic but also can get very violent (ala her karate moves). Rika: She's a friend of Hanamoto that runs a design firm that Mayama works for. She knows that Mayama loves her but because of the pain she suffers from that accident that killed her boyfriend (and Professor Hanamoto's best friend), she likes to inflict pain onto herself. What I found quite charming about this storyline is that it's life of a college student. Trying to do your best at school, not knowing your own future after school, not having enough money and just the fun that people have amongst friends. Chapter 10 revolves around Yuta Takemoto. Yuta returns home to visit his mother. He hasn't really visited his home mainly because he resents his stepfather and really hasn't accepted him into the family in since the death of his father. His stepfather tries to get closer to Yuta and letting him know that despite being his stepfather, he will never replace his real father. But more or less a storyline focusing on Yuta and his own personal family life. Chapter 11 features the group going on a trip. Ayu still loves Mayama but Mayama thinks only of Rika. Morita sees how people are down and tries to get everyone to have fun (or get drunk) but have a good time. Chapter 12 features a trip to the zoo. But the major part of this storyline is learning about Hanamoto's relationship with Rika and Hanamoto and Mayama having a long talk about Rika and why he was offered to work at her office. Chapter 13 features Yuta and Morita vying for Hagumi's affections. Meanwhile, Morita must finish his project to finally graduate but will he complete it or will he need to retake the course again. The most important part of this chapter is Ayu finally revealing her feelings to Mayama. No holding back. Chapter 14 features Hanamoto taking a sabbatical to do research in another country. That means he will have to leave Hagumi. Hagumi wants to find a four leaf clover to give to Hanamoto for good luck and the gang tries to help her find one. This chapter introduces how Hanamoto became Hagumi's guardian. Chapter 15 features Yutaka's birthday party with Hagumi cooking her specialty "Chocolate Mintkin", a pumpkin popped in the microwave and topped with chocolate mint ice cream afterwards. Meanwhile it is revealed how Hanamoto is doing in the other country and how Hagumi is doing without Hanamoto. Whether their relationship is like father and daughter
or more than that, you don't know. Also, Yutaka starting to have more feelings towards Hagumi. Also, included is a side story which includes "Honey & Clover: The Story So Far" with the perspective from Midori-chan (a dog that lives in the same building where Hagumi is staying), "Otaku House Call" which is a segment featuring cute character animal drawing designs of Umino and the people who work with her and a story of behind-the-scenes as they work together. And the third part is a study guide of key locations featured in the manga that people can check out if they visit Japan. The second volume was very good. Where the last volume featured mostly the fun and games between the characters, volume 2 focused more on the dramatic situations in their lives and possible upcoming love triangles that may pose problems for the friends in upcoming chapters. Although "honey and clover" is a "Shojo Beat" title, this is not a manga strictly for females. The story involves men and women and the complexity they face in their lives. May it be graduation, what to do after graduation or the emotions that they feel inside but somehow, finding difficulty to express them. "honey and clover" is a well-told drama ala manga series and it's no surprise whey this manga series has had a live drama, anime series and film adaption. The storyline is enjoyable and there is an innocence to the storyline that we all can relate to. Also, it's a fun manga series that is well written and well drawn and I'm impressed with how much Umino is able to include with each and every chapter. Volume 2 continues that fun and beautiful storyline and designs that I loved with the first volume and I look forward to volume 3. Another recommended volume in the "honey and clover" manga series! Honey and Clover, Volume 1 (v. 1) by Chica Umino Honey And Clover Is Very Cool! Takemoto, a sophomore art student in Tokyo, thinks his greatest worries in life are finding ways to eat more meat and getting to class on time. But with friends like his, life is never going to be that uninteresting. Personal Review: Honey and Clover, Volume 1 (v. 1) by Chica Umino Beautiful, fun... Definitely a lot of positive things you can say about this Kodansha Award winning manga series by Chika Umino. Having spawned an anime series, a live drama and film, it's no surprise that many men and women have enjoyed "honey and clover" and now available from Viz Media via their Shojo Beat imprint is "honey and clover".
Part of my interest in wanting to read the manga is that I enjoyed the film but I felt that there were much back story of the characters that I figured, if I really want to enjoy this series, start with the manga. And so, after reading volume 1, I was surprised how different the manga series and the live film were. In the manga series, the story revolves around three guys who live in an apartment complex and attend an art school. They are: Yuta Takemoto: One of the primary characters, Takemoto is the youngest of the guys and majoring in architectural design. He seems to have a ho- hum life but is the normal guy of the group who has taken a liking to the gifted artist Hagumi. Shinobu Morita: A carefree, does whatever he wants type of guy. Very cool but very strange. A gifted sculptor who has attended the University for years, has not graduated but tends to make money doing freelance work and constantly on the move. He is drawn to Hagumi because she reminds him of a Koropokkur (a leprechaun or fairy) that he actually takes pictures of her in situations and puts it on the Internet and promoting her as one. Takumi Mayama: Mayama is the quiet type. A senpai for Takemoto and works at a design firm in which he likes the owner Rika. Although he knows that he'll never get that close to Rika, he somewhat does what he can for her. He is also the guy that Morita turned to when he needed help but now Mayama has passed the duty on to Takemoto. Characters also featured are: Hagumi: A shy, gifted sculptor who is being taken care of by her uncle, Professor Hanamoto. She is not very talkative and very, very short. She is almost like a little girl but she's actually 18 and her cuteness makes everyone in a good mood. She does have a hard time knowing that so many people expect a lot of things from her because of her talent but also knows that because of dedicating her life to that talent, she doesn't live a normal life like the other girls in school. Chapter 1 is more like an introduction to the characters but you can't help but laugh when you see Morita making Hagu pose as a Koropokkur. Chapter 2 features a guy coming to the University to see if the Koropokkur is real and the guys learn that Morita is making money off his popular website but Hagu is not to thrilled about what Morita is doing that he does something nice for her. Chapter 3 is how the guys can't understand why all the girls give him so much attention. Especially since he's lazy, oversleeps and uses the public faucet to shower and you get an idea of how far out Morita really is. In one point, Morita needs clothes, so he grabs the curtains from Professor Hanamoto's class and wears the clothes like Moses from the "Ten Commandments" with no shame. Chapter 4 features the guys really hungry and haven't eaten any meat for a long while because they are broke. They survive by the noodles brought home by one of the guys who live in the apartment but things change when Lohmeyer-san returns back on campus from the family farm and brings so much ham, sausage and vegetables for the guys that Takemoto learns why everyone loves him. Chapter 5 features the guys and Hagu going out for some fun and light some fireworks and Takemoto gets to see a kind side of Hagu. Chapter 6 features Mayama getting a phone call from someone and Takemoto suspects that he may have a girlfriend. Meanwhile, Morita is contacted to do a high paying job and Takemoto tries to make himself look great in front of Hagu and tells her that he'll create something for her, since he is an architectural major. Chapter 7 introduces Ayumi Yamada and how she is in love with Mayama. Meanwhile, Takemoto finds out who the girl that called Mayama is. Her name is Rika, a colleague of Professor Hanamoto and Mayama's boss and that Mayama was just doing a lot of work for her. But Mayama does like her and Yamada takes it very hard. Chapter 8 focuses on Hagu and how the pressures of being a talented sculptor and not having a normal life like the other young women on campus starts to make her depressed. The pressures of life start to drain her emotionally. Chapter 9 is about Christmas and Morita invites everyone to Hanamoto- san's office for a Christmas party. The final pages feature a bonus manga diary titled "Life of Umino" and a glossary of terms used in the manga such as words like what is "Koropokkur" or what is a "system 6 operating system.
I really enjoyed this first volume. Similar to young novels or manga (or even dramas) such as "Asunaro Hakusho", "Wakamono no Subete" or "Hakusen Nagashi", I really enjoy stories that cover young adult life. From the parties to just hanging out with friends, meeting new people, career choices to finding love (or not finding love), "honey and clover" is one of those series that is realistic in the sense that many people can related to these characters. So, you really take an interest towards the characters and I really liked the overall development of the characters through the course of the nine chapters. Umino's artwork and her storytelling is enjoyable, beautiful and has a good balance of entertainment through humor and that occasional love triangle drama that pulls you in. So, I was very surprised of the differences between the life film and the manga. With the film, there's so much that can't be done in a film under two hours from a manga series that has many chapters of storyline and character development. I can see why so many people were entertained by this manga series. It's very entertaining and artwork that is just beautiful look at. This is one of those stories that appeals appeals to both men and women and overall, the first volume is quite entertaining thus far. Definitely check it out! Understanding Cultural References In Japanese Anime And Manga

Most Japanese anime is, obviously, made for a Japanese market, meaning American viewers will be unfamiliar with much of what they see. While some of this unfamiliarity adds to the pleasure of watching, some facets of Japanese culture could stand to be explained.

The Eyes:

The large, shiny eyes that have become a staple of anime style are actually more a product of history than of culture. In the past, characters in American and European cartoons, such as Betty Boop and Felix the Cat, had disproportionately large eyes. This style was emulated by Tezuka Osamu, one of the most influential founding fathers of anime. Today, this distinctive eye style has become a matter of the animators' preference. Large eyes often appear on women and young children to make them appear more innocent. Although most American viewers are familiar only with this particular eye style, many of the characters in cartoons shown in Japan possess much more normal eyes.

Various Prefixes and Suffixes:

Although an anime may be dubbed in English, many Japanese "add-ons" are left attached to characters' names. These prefixes and suffixes do not have direct English translations, but their meaning is easily understood.

The suffix -sama is a term of the utmost respect, such as one would use when talking about the Emperor or God.

The suffix -san is used for general politeness.

The suffix -chan is a term of endearment, used only between family members, close friends, or romantically involved couples. The suffix -kun is often added to the end of a young man's name. The honorific o- added at the beginning of names and some common nouns has a duel purpose. It is used as both a term of respect and as a means to "soften" statements and requests that would otherwise sound too sharp.

Strange Hair Colors:

Outrageous hair colors are common in anime, despite the fact that no culture, anywhere, considers them the norm. The reason for this is surprisingly simple. When a manga series (Japanese comic book) or anime has been selected for U.S. release, the characters' hair color is often changed so that viewers will be able to tell the difference between very similar-looking characters.

Cherry Blossoms:

Cherry Blossoms ("sakura" in Japanese) are evident in many anime, including Peacock King and X 1999. In Japan, blossom-viewing parties and picnics are standard fare during the springtime, when the flowers fall as thick as snow. Cherry blossoms are also considered to be a symbol of a life cut tragically short and, for this reason, they are often added during a death scene to give the anime that extra dramatic flair. Sakura is also a very common girls' name.

Money-hungry Women:

In Japan, women are responsible for managing the household budget. Men bring home wages and women dole out allowances to their husbands. For this reason, women are often teased for being either overly interested, or completely uninterested, in cash flow. Nanami in El-Hazard, Lina Inverse in Slayers, and Sakura in Key the Metal Idol were all women out to make a buck"¦many bucks, in fact.

Prayer Beads:

Religious characters are often adorned with long necklaces of large beads. These prayer beads are similar in function to the Christian rosary and are used to keep track while reciting the name of the Buddha. Most of these necklaces have 108 beads, symbolizing the 108 evil passions denounced in Buddhism.

Women with Guns:

Stereotypically, Japanese women are seen as soft-spoken and shy by the outside world. Therefore, many viewers are amazed at the number of gun-toting women characters in anime and manga. Even though Japan is still highly gender-role oriented, what most people fail to realize is that women have a very large, very important position in Japanese culture. Throughout the country's history, many women have been featured prominently for their courage and compassion. By including strong female characters, anime and manga are helping to destroy the misconception that Japanese women are weak, meek, and mild.

Left-handedness:

Although this is relevant only to manga, it is very interesting and has been included (since most anime fans also read, or at least look at, Japanese manga). It may seem that characters in Japanese comic books are all left-handed, which has led many to think that left-handedness is either an extremely common or highly respected trait. It's neither. Just as in America, most people are right handed. And that's the way they are drawn in the comic books. The switch comes when these books are marketed for the United States. Because the Japanese read from right to left, their books open opposite of the way ours do. To put them into a format more comfortable for Americans, the images are switched to their mirror-image so that the book can be read. This means that someone driving on the left side of the road in a Japanese comic book will appear as if he is driving down the right side in the American version. The same is true for any character writing with his or her right hand.

While these cultural references may shed some light on particular anime quirks, some things still can't be explained. For instance, why are women characters so often obsessed with food, and why do so many (seriously, TOO many) men dress in drag?

Honey and Clover (ハチミツとクローバー Hachimitsu to Kurōbā?) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Chika Umino. It is also known as HachiKuro (ハチクロ?) and H&C. It is published by Shueisha, initially serialized from June 2000 to July 2006 in the magazines CUTiEcomic, Young YOU, and Chorus, and collected in ten bound volumes. The series depicts the lives and relationships of a group of art school students who live in the same apartment building. In 2003, the manga won the 27th Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo.
The series was adapted as an animated television series by J.C.Staff, initially broadcast on Fuji TV in two seasons from April to September 2005 and June to September 2006. The series was also adapted as a live action movie, which was released in theaters in Japan on July 22, 2006, and two separate live-action television dramas in 2008, one broadcast in Japan on Fuji TV from January 8, 2008 to March 18, 2008 and the other broadcast in Taiwan on CTS beginning on May 25, 2008.

Yūta Takemoto, Takumi Mayama and Shinobu Morita are three young men who live in the same apartment complex and are students at an art college in Tokyo.

One day, they are introduced to Hagumi Hanamoto, the daughter of a cousin of Shūji Hanamoto, an art professor, who has come to live with Hanamoto and has become a first year art student at the art school that everyone attends. Takemoto and Morita both fall in love with Hagu, but Takemoto hides his feelings and tries to be a friend to Hagu while Morita expresses his love in ways that seem only to scare Hagu, such as calling her "Mousey" and constantly photographing her. Hagu herself, though initially timid and afraid of company, gradually warms up to the three.

The group comes to include Ayumi Yamada, a master of pottery who is well-known by her nickname "Tetsujin" (Iron Lady), who becomes very close to Hagu. When not at school, she helps run the family liquor store. While Ayumi is popular with many young men, she falls in love with Mayama, who does not recipocrate her feelings and considers her a very dear friend. Instead, Mayama pursues an older woman, Rika Harada, a widowed friend of Professor Hanamoto who runs an architecture studio she founded with her husband.

The story follows these five characters in their love triangles, unrequited love, graduating from college, finding jobs, and learning more about themselves.

In the 30th Century, the planet is now united under one country called Earth. Princess Kyoko is protected by the last remaining members of the Dragon clan: the princes Hizuki and his younger brother Sakataki. Kyoko has lived the life of a commoner, attending public school under the quiet protection of her two guardians, while avoiding being seen in public as the princess.

As her 16th birthday approaches, the time when she will inherit the crown, her subjects are growing restless at her refusal to be seen. A gang comes to the school having heard a tip she was there, and begins harassing Kyoko's friend Karen. Kyoko reveals her identity to protect both her friend and the school. Afterwards, she returns home to accept her fate, but her father offers her the chance to return to the life she prefers if she can awaken her twin sister, Ui. Ui, has been in a coma-like state since she was born and is said to be "trapped in time". If she awakens, she would inherit the crown, and Kyoko would be free. Wanting to meet and speak with the sister she has never known, Kyoko agrees to undertake the quest.

To do this, Kyoko must find the Strangers, twelve telepaths who each hold a holy stone that enables their owners to use specific powers. Kyoko herself is the first, the Time Stranger, and the one destined to lead the others. She has the power to stop time and go back in time, and is given the "Scorpion Cane" which talks to her and aid Strangers. Her guardian Sakataki is revealed to be the Crystal Stranger, and they are able to quickly find the next ten strangers, all leaders of their clans and descendants of the Kirit clan. They are able to find the ten of the remaining strangers quickly, and along the way Kyoko comes to appreciate her position as a princess and decides she will continue to be one even after Ui awakens.
As the story progresses, Kyoko and Sakataki fall in love, though they do not reveal their feelings to one another.

Kyoko plans to confess with the final stranger is found, but one night Hizuki kisses her in her sleep and confesses his own love for her. He is quickly arrested as his actions are taken as an attack on the princess. With Hizuki sentenced to death, to save his life Kyoko chooses him to be her husband and tells him that she loves him. He reveals to Sakataki that he did it on purpose to become her husband and that he is a demon Kirit and the one who destroyed the Dragon Clan. He gives Sakataki the only sword capable of killing him, then forces him into a duel wanting to die, but Kyoko stops it and yells at him. Sakataki also tells him he knew what Hizuki had done as a child, and that he still loved him. Satisfied, Hizuki reveals himself to be the last Stranger.

The ceremony is performed to awakened Ui, but her body vanishes and she awakens in Kyoko's body. Kyoko awakens in another world where she meets Chronos, the god of time and her true father. He explains that as a child, Kyoko needed a human body to mature in quickly as he was dying, and the king agreed to allow him to use Ui's body. In performing the ceremony, Kyoko returned Ui to her own body and Kyoko returned to being a god. She was forgotten by everyone, except the King, who cried at losing her. Kyoko accepts being this and agrees to fulfill her duties, but she cannot forget Sakataki and runs to where he is and confesses her love to him though he can not see or hear her.

She kisses him goodbye and he briefly sees her before she goes. He finds a water strain in his pocket with a picture and note from her, which unlocks his memories. He runs to the clock to find her, but it was destroyed after Kyoko and Chronos returns to their own world. He gathers the other Strangers and helps them remember. They use their powers to open a rip in time, allowing Sakataki to go to where Kyoko is.

Realizing how much they love one another, Chronos allows Kyoko to return to the human world after absorbing some of her powers to enable himself to continue ruling. The king gives Kyoko the body of his late wife Kiku, who died giving birth to Ui and for whom Chronos had stopped time. She marries Sakataki and continues to live as a princess and as a sister to Ui.

Marmalade Boy (ママレード·ボーイ Mamarēdo Bōi?) is a shōjo manga by Wataru Yoshizumi. It was published by Shueisha in the magazine Ribon from May 1992 to October 1995 and collected in eight tankōbon volumes. The series was adapted by Toei Animation as a 76-episode anime television series which aired on TV Asahi and Fuji TV in 1994 to 1995. This was followed by a prequel theatrical anime movie in 1995. The series was also adapted as a 30-episode live-action television series that was broadcast in Taiwan in 2002.
The manga was published in English by Tokyopop, which also licensed the anime series. Tokyopop has since lost the license to the manga series, as Shueisha refused to renew it, leaving the releases out of print. They were also unable to renew the license for the first twenty-four episodes of the anime.

Miki Koishikawa's ordinary life as a high school sophomore is turned upside down when her parents suddenly announce that they are getting divorced in order to swap partners with a couple they met in Hawaii. They seek her approval of the shocking change, and at a dinner where Miki meets the other couple as well as their son Yuu, who is about her age, she reluctantly agrees to the arrangement. Yuu, while at first a jerk who takes every opportunity to make fun of Miki, turns out to be fun and attractive, and Miki finds herself falling for him. Little by little, she accepts her new family arrangement, and opens up to Yuu as they become friends.
Miki and Yuu's relationship starts to become complicated because of the previous relationships that they had and developed with other characters. These include Miki's long time classmate and former crush, Ginta Suou, and Yuu's former girlfriend, Arimi Suzuki. A secondary subplot develops when Miki's best friend, Meiko Akizuki, herself starts to have her own problems because of the relationship she has gotten into with one of the teachers, Namura Shin'ichi.
Throughout the series, Miki and Yuu's relationship is further developed and tried, influenced by other characters around them and the relationships that they develop with these characters.

Candy Candy (キャンディ・キャンディ?) is a Japanese novel, manga, and anime series. The main character, Candice "Candy" White Ardlay is a blonde American girl with freckles, large emerald green eyes and long, curly hair, worn in pigtails with bows. Candy Candy first appeared in a prose novel by famed Japanese writer Kyoko Mizuki in April 1975. When Mizuki joined forces with manga artist Yumiko Igarashi, the Japanese magazine Nakayoshi became interested in Candy Candy. The series was serialized as a manga series in the magazine for four years and won the 1st Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo in 1977. The story was adapted into an anime series by Toei animation. An aura of pop culture, talent and exclusivity make manga artists like rock stars in Japan, and manga creator Natsuki Takaya can now boast of a new generation of devotees worldwide. The creator of Fruits Basket, a best-seller in North America, debuted in the early 1990s with manga in the Japanese magazine Hana to Yume (Flowers and Dreams) to become one of the industry's top shojo authors, creating manga for women that now sell in bookstores across the globe through publishers such as Tokyopop. In the creator's first U.S. interview, TIME's Coco Masters talks with Takaya (a pen name) about her experiences as a manga creator, the television series CSI and what makes manga far more than inking characters on a page.

TIME: What was it that got you started in manga?
NT: It wasn't anything specific, per se. As a child, because manga was always around and I was reading it, I naturally thought, "Hey, I'd like to draw manga — I'd like to be a manga author!"

TIME: Have you ever drawn "dojinshi" [self-published manga] or worked as a mangaka assistant?
NT: Before and after my debut, I've helped out other manga artists from time to time, but I have no experience of being exclusively an assistant. Nor have I done individual or self-published manga.

TIME: How do you define manga in terms of storyline, characters and visual style?
NT: I try to make it so that I don't hold a firm definition. Rather than be locked into that and have my creations become clumsy and awkward, I want everything to have a certain softness — a freedom.

TIME: What do you think about manga being attempted by non-Japanese creators? Do you consider it manga or another form?
NT: Simply put, I'm glad that manga as an expressive form is expanding. I think that nationality has no relation to that which gives rise to manga. Even among the Japanese, manga creators are making their creations everyday reflecting their own individuality, with none being the same. What is important isn't the differences between the creators but their love for manga.

TIME: What inspires the Fruits Basket storyline?
NT: I've been asked this question many times in the past, but I still don't have a very clear answer to it. It's just something that occurs to me, through the process of living for myself — as "me."

TIME: How long will you continue Fruits Basket? Are you ready to move on to something else?
NT: I plan to conclude it within the year. I don't really think that I'm particularly sad about it drawing to a close. If I don't follow through with it until the end, my work won't stand on its own. I always want to be able to draw new projects.

TIME: What do you like most about drawing manga?
NT: Coming up with the plot, making the characters move and dividing up the panels. The "name"[storyboards] is what I like the most.

TIME: What kinds of books and manga do you read, and from which do you find your inspiration?
NT: I like looking at work that I could never draw myself. I really like the CSI series, Las Vegas in particular. It's really interesting. I'm at the point where I'm considering buying every episode on DVD. I'm the sort of person that doesn't really have specific "inspiration." It probably comes more from my doubts and my desires.

TIME: Do you have assistants? And if so, do you have to train them in your style of drawing and inking?
NT: I have two. There's nothing in particular that I teach them, but they're always a great help to me.

TIME: Fruits Basket has quite a following in the U.S. What do you think are the reasons for its popularity?
NT: That definitely flatters and pleases me. Thank you very much. As for a reason, I can't clearly distinguish one, but if people read it and think "I like this" then that alone is enough to bring me joy.

TIME: Why do you think that manga is increasingly popular outside of Japan?
NT: I wonder if it's just because manga has come to be circulated more in the world than it was before? If it is because manga is being recognized for its merit as a medium capable of expression, then I'm happy as someone who loves manga.

TIME: How do you think that you've influenced a generation of Japanese girls?
NT: How can I put it, I think that my work has a stronger sense of "touching" rather than "influencing."

TIME: What do you want your readers to feel or understand from reading your manga?
NT: Above and beyond drawing my creations, I try to incorporate some kind of message. I try not to end as merely a question but try to provide a conclusion within the work. Furthermore, I try not to supplement this understanding outside of the work. This is because I believe that readers are free to respond to the work in their own way and that this is part of the pleasure... Of course, there are unintended misunderstandings and the occasional thing that completely confuses, but as much as possible, I want to value the sensitivity of all readers.

How to Draw Manga

Manga is a highly regarded art form in Japan. Manga artists are highly respected not only for their skill but also for their imagination and creativity.

To draw manga, one would have to study the characteristics of manga images. Most people who wants to learn how to draw manga are usually attracted to some characters in a manga series. Without knowing it, they're not only attracted to the physical form of the manga character, they're also drawn to the personality of the character.

Manga pictures are not hard to draw once you understand its basic characteristics. And here they are.

Firstly, manga characters are adorable looking. This cuteness is defined by extremely large eyes, an almond shaped face, and a very small mouth. In fact, the faces of manga characters can look very similar, and they're differentiated mostly by their elaborate hair, dressing and accessories.

The manga face is made up of very basic shapes. So there's very little I can recommend here except to practice, practice, practice. If you can master drawing one manga face well, you'll be able to draw other manga faces as well.

The key here is to be able to capture the elaborate hair. Its not uncommon to see manga characters with long hair. Many fine lines are required to draw a fine head of hair, so do pick a sharp drawing tool for this purpose.

The dressing and accessories of a manga character is a statement of who the character is. So do not ignore these fine details. Spiritual characters often have "floating" pieces of cloth around them (e.g. cloak, scarf, etc).

Warriors almost always carry some kind of fancy weapon such as swords, spears, and so on. These weapons, together with the clothing, make-up the entire manga character.

Knowing this, the next time you draw a manga character, pay special attention to the hair, clothing and weapons of the character.

Later on in the series a fourth (yellow) egg is born, this egg contains the Guardian Character Diamond. She was only seen a few times in the series, until about halfway to the end, where she was purified of the X on her, and then would appear in times of heavy crisis.

Two years ago, Ayumu Narumi's older brother Kiyotaka, a famous detective and pianist, disappears without a trace. Ayumu's only clue as to his brother's whereabouts is the phrase "Blade Children," the only words Ayumu could make out in Kiyotaka's final phone call. Now in high school, Ayumu becomes involved in solving in a series of murders and other incidents, all related to the Blade Children. Together with his school's journalist, Hiyono Yuizaki, and the unwilling assistance of his sister-in-law, Madoka, Ayumu tries to figure out who the Blade Children are and what are their goals.
The Blade Children are the central mystery of the series, known only as cursed children that few know about and are being pursued by so-called Hunters. They are distinguished by their cat-like eyes and by missing the seventh right rib bone. As Ayumu investigates them, he meets Blade Children Kousuke Asazuki, Rio Takeuchi, Eyes Rutherford, Ryoko Takamachi, and Kanone Hilbert, and is tested in various ways by them. Those who meet him eventually conclude, some more reluctantly than others, that Ayumu does have what it takes to "save" the Blade Children, as they say Kiyotaka claims.

The anime series, which adapts the story through the sixth volume of the manga, compares the Blade Children to cuckoo birds, having been deposited in human "nests" to be raised, and suggesting that cuckoos go violently crazy toward the end of their lives. The manga continues the story, depicting Ayumu's discoveries about the origin of the Blade Children, their relationship with Kiyotaka, and why his older brother thinks Ayumu might be their savior.

Some thirty years ago, a man called Yaiba Mizushiro was born with one rib missing from his right ribcage. Like Kiyotaka, he excelled at everything he chose to put his mind to. When he turned twenty-three, Yaiba started his own secret society, which swiftly grew powerful enough to manipulate world events. Citing boredom, Yaiba initiated the "Blade Children Project": using in vitro techniques and his DNA, he created eighty children, and had a rib removed from each of them at birth as a mark of their relationship to Yaiba. These Blade Children were cursed in the same way Yaiba was: they would grow up as geniuses in their own right, but one day their blood would awaken murderously and take over their self-will, becoming avatars of Yaiba. Yaiba's organization split into three parties over the Blade Children Project:
The Savers supported Yaiba's goals and desire to create more Blade Children. With Yaiba's death, they sought to protect the fact the future had not been determined yet.

The Watchers were neutral, wanting to observe the first batch of Children and gather results first.
The Hunters were against Yaiba, and tried multiple times to assassinate him, but repeatedly failed. After Yaiba's death, they worked to eliminate the Blade Children because of their potentially dangerous natures.
When Yaiba was thirty-six, a Japanese man came out of nowhere and easily killed him: Kiyotaka Narumi, Yaiba's counterpart—if Yaiba had been a destroyer, Kiyotaka was a creator. Yaiba had intended to remake the world literally in his own image; with his death, the Blade Children project was halted. Kiyotaka had his hands full trying to stop the Hunters from killing the Blade Children, while trying to check the Savers at the same time.

Just as Kiyotaka and Yaiba were linked, Ayumu eventually meets his own counterpart: Hizumi Mizushiro, Yaiba's younger brother, and the one who will awaken the blood of the remaining Blade Children. As Ayumu comes to know and becomes friends with Hizumi, he comes to accept his own powers are as strong as Kiyotaka's and his role as the savior of the Blade Children, leading to a final confrontation that resolves things once and for all.

Spiral: Alive

Spiral: Alive is centered on a girl, Imari Sekiguchi, who falls in love with Shirou Sawamura, a boy who wants to become a detective. However, before Imari can confess to him, he unexpectedly quits school to pursue Kiyotaka Narumi. Imari learns that he also is dating Yukine Amanae, a beautiful girl at their school, and both Shirou and Yukine are unaware that Yukine is actually a reluctant murderer. Meanwhile, Toru Saiki, a member of the Police Department's First Investigations Department, investigates the mysterious murders connected with Amanae and is unwilling to bring in Kiyotaka, believing that Tokyo's greatest detective is more demonic than divine. Imari, Shirou, and Saiki become involved in events that are mysteriously connected to the Blade Children. Several characters from the original series return, including Kiyotaka, Kousuke, Ryoko, Kanone, and Madoka.

The series reveals that of the eighty original Blade Children watched by the Hunters, Savers, and Watchers, thirteen have been completely erased from their lists of Blade Children. The one responsible for this had been a neutral party who committed suicide after accomplishing this. The only information about the thirteen missing Blade Children is contained in the Mikanagi File, named after Professor Isabel Mikanagi, who was responsible for their disappearance. With Professor Mikanagi's death, the file was entrusted to her associates, Yukine's parents. After their deaths as the result of a Hunter's actions, Yukine survived and currently holds in her memory the only record of the Mikanagi File.

The Wallflower is about a girl who was called "ugly" by a boy, the first and only person to whom she confessed her love. This incident sparks a life change, and as a result Sunako shuns all forms of beauty, both in herself as well as in life. Concerned by her change for the worst, Sunako's aunt, the owner of a beautiful mansion where four very handsome students live, offers the guys free rent in her mansion if they can turn Sunako into a "perfect lady" (referred to in Japan as the titular Yamato Nadeshiko).

While the four of them manage to make Sunako physically beautiful enough to become a lady, the problem lies with her attitude and interests (which Sunako has no intention of changing). Up until the most recent release in the story, they've managed to convince Sunako's aunt that her niece is indeed a lady befitting the mansion in which they live (and prevent the rent from skyrocketing to triple the required amount). However, in reality, Sunako has not changed considerably.

Umehito Nekozawa

Umehito Nekozawa (猫澤梅人 Nekozawa Umehito?) is depicted as a hooded figure holding a cat puppet named Belzeneff (also spelled Beelzenef). Umehito has a disease that causes him to collapse (and, according to him, die) in any kind of direct light; he tends to refer to anyone who drags him into lights as 'murderers'. As the Black Magic Club’s president, he tries to get people to join his club, though is not too successful. However, anyone who joins gets a free "Belzeneff" doll. Umehito has one as a puppet, but it is also available as a wooden voodoo doll. Nekozawa claims that if you write the name of the person you hate on the back of the doll, the person will be showered with misfortunes. Tamaki, especially, is superstitious about Nekozawa's curses due to having experienced them first-hand, or so he believes.

Umehito is actually very handsome under his hood, although he wears a black - dark green in the anime - wig over his naturally blond hair (according to his maid, even his hair can't be exposed to the light) and bright blue eyes. He has a child sister named Kirimi who is afraid of the dark and is under the impression that he is a "monster" due to his dark clothing. As a result, the two siblings were not able to be around one another until Tamaki and the Host Club got involved and prompted Umehito to adjust to light and display his more heroic and princely side. In the end, it is Umehito's love for and desire to protect his little sister that endears him to her, despite his disease; he braves daylight to save Kirimi. Granted, he collapses right afterwards from exposure to sunshine, but Kirimi finds a place in her heart for his willingness to brave that which he loathes so much to protect her. At the end of volume 8 of the manga, it is shown that Kirimi has turned into a nearly identical darkness fanatic. Both sport dark cloaks and have their features covered, but Kirimi carries a giant plush bunny instead of a Beelzenef puppet. Despite the Host Club's efforts to help him brave the sun, he is still just as obsessed with his occult passions. In the Halloween episode, he appears before Tamaki (from a coffin no less) and offers his services in helping scare the student body.

In Volume 3 of the manga, the Host Club actually stay at Umehito's private beach and mansion, not Kyoya's, though Umehito does not attend dinner because Haruhi switched the lights on and caused him to go into shock. The Host Club (Mori, Honey, the twins, and Haruhi) also see Umehito without his cloak and wig for the first time as he comes out to see what's wrong when Haruhi is being taken to the bathroom. It is unclear if he has realized that Haruhi is a girl, but seeing as she spent the whole vacation in a dress instead of her typical boyish clothes it's very possible he knows her secret and just doesn't care about it.

The Nekozawa family traces their heritage to the Tokarev Dynasty in Russia, suggesting that Nekozawa family may work with gun manufacturing companies (a firearm even appears in the manga).

Hikaru Hitachiin (常陸院光 Hitachīn Hikaru?) and Kaoru Hitachiin (常陸院馨 Hitachīn Kaoru?) (born 9 June, chosen by mangaka to show that they are alike yet different), aged 16 at the beginning of the series are depicted as mischievous, devious, and otherwise childish young men who often toy with people around them, including their fellow classmate and Host Club member, Haruhi.

As they get to know Haruhi better, they start to care for her deeply, especially since they discovered that Haruhi can tell them apart, something that no one has ever done before. When they were very young, a maid they were very fond of betrayed their family by trying to rob them. The twins made her play the "Which one is Hikaru?" game and promise that she wouldn't rob them but she broke her promise and told them that no one would ever be able to tell them apart.

Tamaki Suoh, however, in their last year of middle school, repeatedly followed them tossing out random guesses as to who was Hikaru and who was Kaoru to get them to join the Host Club Showing his intuition and false reasons each time. Kaoru is more mature than Hikaru as he understands and handles situations better than the narrow-minded Hikaru. Finally they crumbled, and decided to just try out the Host Club, and thus took a step towards a wider world, also developing a deep bond with Tamaki (who, eventually, does learn how to truly tell them apart). For this reason, they were originally cynical to the world before joining the Host Club, believing that anyone who is not the other twin cannot possibly compare to their bond. Additionally, because their parents were often away, they developed a deep dependence on each other through loneliness, but seem to open up to others recently, thus their relationship with Haruhi is a large part of their life.

The Hitachiin twins show many instances of "brotherly love" which gets girls to fall for them left and right. In the anime, at least, it is difficult to say whether or not this is genuine although unlikely since they, along with the rest of the Host Club, are adept at adapting their personalities to suit the tastes of the clients, and their "forbidden brotherly love" act is their main draw. As well as this, both twins are shown to have a romantic interest in Haruhi.

The twins are both considered the mischievous, tricky, "little devil" types to attract customers. However, they do have their differences. Kaoru is nicer, more mature, and considerate to the thoughts of others, while Hikaru is more childish and immature, although Hikaru is the older twin. Kaoru also chooses not to pursue his feelings for Haruhi, so that Hikaru can realize his own feelings first. The personality differences are only shown when they are separated, and there is a slight difference in the way they speak. There are several ways as to how to tell the twins apart, the most used being that Hikaru's hair parting is on the left and Kaoru's hair parting is on the right.

Also Hikaru's hair color is more of an ash black color. He dyed his hair after the fight between him and Kaoru. They live with their mother, Yuzuha, a fashion designer, and their considerably meeker father, a computer software designer. Both have a crush on Haruhi, but in the end Kaoru realizes that his brother is more important to him, so he gives up on Haruhi. As Tamaki has recently realized his feelings for Haruhi, Hikaru is determined "not to lose" in winning over her heart. However, as time goes by, it seems Hikaru is becoming more and more conscious of how his suspicion about Haruhi's feelings might be true. Specially in chapter 71, when he goes to get her only to find her alone in the Music Room with Tamaki, patting his head while he's sleeping. From here on he seems to have realized the fact that his chances are slim to none.

Hikaru, Kaoru and Haruhi were planning to break into Tamaki's house and drag him to the ariport, but it was decided that Mori and Hunny would do it instead.

Belldandy

Belldandy (ベルダンディー Berudandī?) is a character in the popular manga Oh My Goddess! and in the anime Ah! My Goddess. She was created by Kosuke Fujishima as one of three Goddesses who come to Earth to reside with Keiichi Morisato, and she serves as his love interest. She is depicted as a beautiful and powerful young woman, with strong nurturing tendencies, a trusting and innocent character, and an extremely kind heart. Belldandy is accidentally summoned from heaven by Keiichi in order to grant him a wish and stays when Keiichi wishes for "a goddess like you to be by my side forever". The stories follow Belldandy as she builds a relationship with Keiichi, using her powers (which include teleportation, telekinesis and levitation) to help both Keiichi and his friends while keeping her true identity a secret.

Her first appearance was in Afternoon in August 1988, and the manga has now been running for more than 20 years and has over 200 chapters. Belldandy has also featured in a novel, two TV series, a movie, and in an OVA series. The character has gained considerable respect throughout the various formats, as evidenced by her appearance as one of the most popular characters in the Newtype and Animage polls. The concept of Belldandy draws loosely from Norse mythology, with "Belldandy" being a transliteration of the Old Norse Verðandi, one of a trio of Norns. She is joined by characters representing the other two of the trio of Norns — her sisters Urd and Skuld.

Belldandy is regarded by commentators as an example of the magical girlfriend character, and comparisons have been drawn with the characters of Samantha from Bewitched and Jeannie from I Dream of Jeannie. The character's very conservative nature, however, which almost completely subordinates her to her fictional boyfriend, Keiichi, has led to some concerns from critics and has polarized the audience.

The series is commonly known under the name Kodocha.[1] The manga won the 1998 Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo. In the year 2007, At the American Anime Awards the anime was nominated for best comedy anime. The series was adapted as an OVA and later as an anime television series.[3][4]
In 2002, the manga was published in North America in English by Tokyopop as Kodocha: Sana's Stage. In 2006, Tokyopop lost the license to the manga, leaving it out of print.[1][5] The first half of the anime series was licensed for North American distribution by FUNimation. It was translated in english in 2005 and the first DVD was released in English in 2006. Season 1 has been completely released on DVD, however Funimation has not yet licensed Season 2 of the series due to the lack of sales.

12-year-old Mitsuki Koyama is a talented singer who dreams of becoming a pop idol, but she is afflicted with sarcoma, which is curable only through a surgery that could cost her vocal cords and her ability to sing. The tumor in her throat also affects her ability to breathe well and sing loudly. On top of that, her grandmother hates music, and is completely opposed to Mitsuki's wish to audition. Her dreams seem impossible to achieve, until one day she is visited by two shinigami whom only she can see. Without knowing Mitsuki can see and hear them, they discuss how she only has one year left to live.

Realizing she cannot wait any longer to fulfill her dream, she runs away from her house and the shinigami to try to audition for a singing competition. However, the shinigami catch her before she is able to audition. Mitsuki moves one of the shinigami, Takuto, to make a deal with her—if she goes quietly when her one year is up, he will help her become a singer so that she may leave the world without any regrets. Mitsuki decided to become a singer two years before the shinigami's arrival, when she was 10 years old. She made a promise with Eichi Sakurai, then a 16-year-old boy she met in her orphanage, that the next time they met, they would both be closer to their dreams. Eichi wanted to become an astronomer and Mitsuki wanted to become a singer. Shortly after, Eichi was adopted and emigrated to America before Mitsuki could express her feelings for him. Mitsuki hopes that by becoming a famous idol, Eichi will be able to hear her sing and realize her feelings for him.

Shortly after her first audition to become a singer, the plot of the manga and anime of this series separate. The two stories share common themes, but events develop differently as the series advances. A high school girl named Himeno Awayuki is attempted to adjust to her new life after her widowed father remarries wealthy divorcee Natsue. While taking a short cut to school, Himeno accidentally steps on a flower. As she tries to think of how to help it, a little boy named Shin, tells her to take his hand. When she does, the flower is healed but Himeno collapses. When she awakens, she finds herself surrounded by the seven Leafe Knights, Hayate, Sasame, Goh, Kei, Mannen, Hajime, and Shin. They tell her that the red snow that has been falling on the town recently is being caused by the Princess of Disaster who is awakening, and that she is using demon larva to absorb Leafe, the essence of all life. They ask Himeno to become the Prétear and help them protect the world. Himeno is initially reluctant, believing they are part of a cult or trying to play a trick on her. When a larva attacks the city and begins stealing leafe, including from her friend Yayoi, Himeno agrees to help. Hayate tells her to take his hand and she merges with him to become the Prétear of the Wind. After adjusting to her new powers, Himeno is able to defeat the larva.

As the series progresses, Himeno finds herself slowly falling in love with Hayate, who is initially cold and refuses to acknowledge her as the Prétear. Eventually she learns the Princess of Disaster was once a girl named Takako, who was the last Prétear. She had not enjoyed fighting, but did it anyway, also falling in love with Hayate. When he could not return her feelings, her anguish caused her powers to turn to evil, changing her into the Princess of Disaster.
Mawata, one of Himeno's stepsisters, has been overwhelmed with grief since the death of her father and holds herself distant from her family. She and Himeno temporarily connect over their shared feelings, but Mawata is hurt when she sees Himeno with Hayate. Mawata is in love with Sasame, but it is revealed that he was in love with Takako. He throws away his status as a Leafe Knight and joins Takako to become her Knight of Darkness. Takako uses Mawata's love for Sasame to hurt her even more, enabling Takako to use her to fuel the Great Tree of Fenrir.
The town is overrun by the Great Tree. To protect the rest of her family, Himeno reveals her Prétear powers to them, then begs them to escape while she rescues Mawata. Instead, the family refuses to leave Mawata behind and put themselves in great physical danger to rescue her. Hayate and Sasame engage in a battle to the death, and Himeno climbs the Great Tree of Fenrir. Himeno's family starts attacking the bubble holding Mawata, calling to her desperately. Himeno continues up the tree to confront the Princess of Disaster. Mawata is freed and Himeno's kindness reaches out to the Princess, enabling her to return to herself, but not before Hayate is killed by Sasame. Out of control, the tree attacks Takako. Sasame shields her and is struck instead. As he dies in her arms, she cries for him and realizes she loved him too.
To stop the tree, Himeno calls upon all of her powers, becoming the legendary White Prétear and pouring out a massive amount of Leafe. The town is restored, the Leafe Knights healed, and Sasame and Hayate are brought back to life. Hayate awakens to find the others crying over Himeno's lifeless body, lying in the grass as if she were sleeping. In agony, he holds her, then kisses her, which restores her life and enables her to awaken. At the end of the series, Himeno and Hayate are a couple, Himeno and her family are closer, Mawata is happier, and Takako is seen quietly sitting with Sasame.

Takeuchi concluded the series she had already finished Sailor Moon; Sailor Vfeatured an ending that tied the two series together. Originally released in 3 volumes, Codename: Sailor V was re-released in 2004 in a deluxe two-volume "Renewal Edition" (新装版 Shinzōban) format.

Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon (美少女戦士セーラームーン Bishōjo Senshi Sērāmūn, 1992-1997)
Known to American audiences simply as Sailor Moon, this manga became Naoko Takeuchi's most famous work, and spawned an anime, several films, stage musicals, a live-action television series and video games of various genres. A fusion of styles between the mahō shōjo and sentai genres, Sailor Moon tells the story of Usagi Tsukino, a girl who discovers one day her identity as the reincarnation of a celestial heroine fighting for love and justice. This series was largely responsible for the late-1990s resurgence of "magical girl" anime and manga. The series was originally released in 18 volumes, but was re-released in 2003 and 2004 in a deluxe 12-volume "Renewal Edition" (新装版 Shinzōban) format, with two supplementary volumes containing side stories to the main work. Characters from her previous work, Codename Sailor V, return in this one.

Princess Naoko Takeuchi's Return-to-Society Punch!! (1998-?):

A collection of short strips detailing what Takeuchi did after Sailor Moon. It ran for a number of years under a changing title, giving details about her post-Sailor Moon slump and recovery, as well as her meeting, marrying, and starting a family with fellow manga creator Yoshihiro Togashi. The comic ran in Shueisha's Young You magazine, rather than a Kodansha publication, and has not been collected since its original serialization. There are similar "____ Punch!" comic strips in the same format at the end of some of the Sailor Moon "Renewal Edition" volumes.

Toki☆Meka! (とき☆メカ! Toki☆Meka!, 2001):
A one-shot story about a robot (Mecha), her creator, and their adventures.

Love Witch (ラブウィッチ Rabu Witchi, 2002):
A story where a girl receives a perfume bottle and becomes a witch, but with a heavy price. It was discontinued after 3 chapters and one side story, with no explanation. It has yet to be reprinted in any sort of compilation.

Toki☆Meca! (とき☆めか! Toki☆Meca!, 2005-2006):
A serialized version of the original one-shot, begun after the completion of the Sailor Moon and Sailor V re-releases. The first portion ran from the January to April 2005 issues of Nakayoshi, after which the author went on hiatus, promising that she would return to the series later. The second phase of the series started in November 2005. One collected volume, released in August 2005, has been published thus far. The serialization officially ended in May 2006. This makes Toki☆Meca! the first series that Takeuchi has completed since Sailor Moon and Codename: Sailor V.

Princess Knight (リボンの騎士, Ribon no Kishi?, lit. "Knight of the Ribbon") is a Japanese manga that ran through four serializations from 1954 to 1968, as well as a 1967 Japanese children's animated series. It was dubbed into English and brought over to Western audiences in 1970, where it was called Choppy and the Princess. In 1973, this series was dubbed in Portuguese and premiered in Brazil, where it still has many fans. The original Japanese animation was created by Osamu Tezuka, the "God of manga", who is probably best known in the West as the creator of Tetsuwan Atom, aka Astro Boy. Princess Knight had a similar animation and character design style as Astro Boy, and was targeted towards the same age range. The series was one of the earliest anime produced in color. It also had a profound influence on the women who would eventually come to revolutionize the genre of shōjo manga.

Princess Knight was released in 2001 in the United States in a bilingual (English/Japanese) edition by Kodansha International, however the edition is out of print and can be hard to find.[11] It has since been licensed by Viz Media. A preview of the manga was released in the July issue of Viz Media's shōjo magazine, Shojo Beat.

A manga revival of the story, titled Sapphire: Princess Knight, by Natsuko Takahashi and Pink Hanamori has been announced and will be launched in the May 2008 issue of Nakayoshi.

For the most part the story of both the manga and the serializations is the same, with only the second serialization (known as Twin Knight) and to some extent the fourth serialization being significantly different.

Taking place in a medieval fairy-tale setting, Princess Knight is the story of young Princess Sapphire who must pretend to be a male prince so she can inherit the throne (as women are not eligible to do so). This deception begins as soon as she is born, as her father the King announces his baby is a boy instead of a girl. The reason for this is that the next-in-line to the throne, Duke Duralumon, is an evil man who would repress the people if he were to become king, and because of this the King will go to any length to prevent him from taking over.

Princess Sapphire has a pint-sized sidekick in the form of Choppy, a young angel-in-training out to earn his wings. When she was born, Choppy accidentally gave Sapphire the blue heart of a rambunctious boy as well as the pink heart of a prim and proper girl, and so God sent him down to Earth to sort out the mess and retrieve Sapphire's extra heart. Choppy is stuck inside a rather weak mortal shell, and cannot go back to Heaven until he's fixed things. Sapphire won't let Choppy remove her blue boy's heart, however. As a result, Choppy is pretty much stuck with Sapphire (although he doesn't really mind).

Sapphire and Choppy experience a variety of fairy tale and political adventures, including encounters with ice witches and anti-Royal revolutionaries. Sapphire also dons a Zorro-style mask at night and fights crime as the Phantom Knight, as well as foiling Duke Duralumon's schemes to take over the kingdom and his attempts to prove that Sapphire is really a girl (and thus discredit her as the heir to the throne).

The bright and colorful animation style of Princess Knight is comparable to that of Disney,[14] à la Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Some mature themes also crop up occasionally. There are several references to God, Satan, Heaven, and Hell. Also, in the final episodes, the story arc is resolved and many major characters are killed on screen (although the main principals make it out okay in the end).

Neji Hyūga (日向ネジ, Hyūga Neji) is one of the main supporting characters of the series. He is a Jōnin-level Shinobi of Konohagakure, and a branch member of the Hyūga clan. He is also a member of Team Guy making him the teammate of Rock Lee and Tenten, and is famed as a natural genius, due to his incredible abilities.

Neji was born with an unmarked forehead, but when his cousin Hinata, the main branch's heir, turned three years old, he was branded with the Hyūga Main Family's Juinjutsu by his uncle Hiashi. All branch members carry this curse mark, as it is a symbol that one lives only to serve the main branch.

Neji's father Hizashi was well aware of Neji's natural talent, and he was frustrated that despite Neji's skill, Neji still carried the fate of a servant. Hizashi openly showed his anger; consequently, he was punished through Hiashi's activation of his curse seal. Around this time, the Leaf and Cloud Villages had signed an alliance treaty. However, that treaty only served as a ticket into Konoha and a lowering of Konoha's guard so the Head Cloud ninja could abduct Hinata and steal the secrets of the Byakugan. The attempt failed, though, as Hiashi intervened and killed the man in his tracks.

When word of the murder reached the Hidden Cloud Village, they demanded Hiashi's body as compensation (as his body would hold the Byakugan as well). The Hidden Leaf Village was prepared to comply to this request until Hizashi stepped in and offered to give himself up instead. Due to him being bound by the Hyūga Main Family's Juinjutsu when he dies, the Byakugan will be sealed away. Hizashi made this sacrifice willingly in order to protect his brother, family, and village. However, Neji came to believe that the main branch had forced him to do so. This misconception became the primary basis of his grudge against the main branch and of his concrete view on one's unalterable fate.

A year before the start of the series, Neji graduated at the top of his class, and was placed in Team Guy, with Might Guy as the Jōnin leader, and Rock Lee and Tenten as his teammates. After officially being promoted to Genin, Neji declined to reveal his dream, and laughed at Rock Lee for claiming that he could become a great ninja with just taijutsu. During their first year in Team Guy, Lee challenged Neji many times, but always lost. Guy decided to have his team wait a year before taking the Chūnin Exams, in order to ensure that they were prepared. At some point before his first Chūnin Exam, his animosity towards the main branch became apparent to Guy, who made him promise not to let the issue influence his feelings during the Chūnin Exams.

Outside of his initial feelings towards his clan, Neji has been shown to be extremely mature for his age, and to have great self-control. In battle, he is able to stay relatively calm in most situations and carefully look at the situation at hand. As stated by Tsunade, Neji has excellent instincts, both on the battlefield and as a leader. When forced to make difficult decisions on missions, he shows himself able to make a decision through keen observation and analysis.

While under the belief that his father had died because he was a member of the branch house, Neji concluded that fate is something decided at birth and that no matter what one does, people cannot escape their destiny. Neji often applied this to people he viewed as weaker than himself, such as his cousin, Hinata. During his match in the Chūnin Exams, he told Hinata that she was unfit to be a ninja, due to being too kind and not confident enough. When she was eventually able to turn his philosophy against him, telling him that she believed that he was suffering from trying to become worthy of the main house, despite him being born into the branch family, Neji became enraged, and attempted to kill Hinata. He was stopped by multiple Jōnin, but Hinata nevertheless was left in critical conditions from his earlier attacks. In this instance, Neji's only concern was that he could not complete his attack, and he accused the Jōnin of giving special treatment to the head family members. He disregarded Hinata's personal growth in the match, concluding that, because she was defeated, "a failure will always be a failure".

Neji displayed similar efforts to condescend others during his match with Naruto Uzumaki who, despite being repeatedly struck down, continued to try and fight him. While Neji tried to show Naruto that fate cannot be fought, and that someone who is weak will always remain weak, Naruto was unwilling to accept this mindset, arguing that Neji, for all his belief in fate, had not accepted his own destiny. Naruto went on to defeat Neji, suggesting that, if a "failure" like himself could change his destiny, a "genius" like Neji could, too.

With this example of overcoming "destiny", as well as finding out the truth about his father's death soon afterwards, Neji abandoned the concept of inescapable fate. No longer bound by the idea that he was stuck at his current status, Neji resolved to become strong enough to never again lose a battle. To do so, he began putting more emphasis on working well with his team, and started to value a mission's successful completion and his teammates' safety over his own betterment, even encouraging Rock Lee to continue pursuing his own dream. In addition, Neji began trying to remedy the estranged relations between himself and the main house members, most particularly by being kinder to Hinata. His efforts seem to be effective, as he begins training with Hiashi, and, in Part II, even starts to wear traditional Hyūga robes. He similarly has great confidence in Naruto's capacity to change others, as he stated that the latter could redeem Sasuke and bring him back to Konoha.

When Team Guy was first formed, Neji dismissed Lee's dream of becoming a great ninja, due to his inability to mold chakra, as hopeless, and suggested that Lee could never defeat him. Because of this, Lee accepted Neji as his rival, though Neji never replied or agreed with it. After abandoning his fatalistic philosophy, he suggested that he would not have persevered in Lee's situation, and believed that, if Lee worked hard enough, he could surpass the gifted. They became good friends because of this, though Neji tends to spend most of his time with Tenten, as neither of them can compete with Lee or Guy's antics.

Neji has noticeably long brown hair for his gender - in fact, his hair is longer than some of the kunoichi in the series. In Part I, his hair had been tied back a few inches above the end, while two straps framed the sides of his face. In Part II, he got rid of these straps, and allowed his hair to frame his face instead. His hair has been shown to be longer in Part II as well. Like all Hyūga clan members, he has pale skin, and the infamous Byakugan. His eyes have been shown with a gray tint to them, while Hinata's eyes have a lavender tint.

Before his fight with Naruto, Neji's facial expression had been always been stern and hard. As the series progressed, however, his expression loosened to a relaxed, content state.

In Part I, Neji was seen with a black headband that he wore snugly over his forehead. He wore a khaki shirt and slightly dark brown shorts. He also had bandages wrapped around his right arm, chest, and right leg.

In Part II, Neji abandoned the bandages. Instead of the regular tan jacket and shorts, he now wears traditional white and black Hyūga robes. This may have not only been to make his attacks easier, but to show that he is now closer to his clan. Neji is usually seen with a large tan and black drawstring bag, which he carries over his shoulder.

From a young age, Neji has been hailed a natural genius. In Part I, he was labeled the top-ranked rookie in his class. His father even stated that with his talent, he could potentially surpass all other members of their clan. Over the time-skip, when most of the former Konoha 11 Genin reached Chūnin rank, Neji was the only one advance to Jōnin.

Vampire Princess Miyu (吸血姫美夕, Kyūketsuki Miyu?, also read as Vanpaia Miyu) is a Japanese horror manga series by Narumi Kakinouchi and Toshiki Hirano, as well as an anime adaptation by the same creators. The anime was originally presented in a 4-episode OVA (Original Video Animation) licenced by AnimEigo in 1988, and was later adapted into a 26-episode television series licensed by Tokyopop and released in 1997. The furigana for the title indicate the pronunciation as Vampire Miyu or Miyu the Vampire. The kanji are a play on the Japanese word for "vampire" (吸血鬼, kyūketsuki, lit blood sucking demon?), replacing the last character of "kyūketsuki" (鬼, ki?) with the character for "princess" (姫, ki?). This also leads to the title sometimes being called Kyūketsuki Miyu

Its central characters are a vampire girl named Miyu and her demonic companion Larva. Miyu is the daughter of both a human and a shinma (demon) and as such she was awakened as the guardian whose destiny is to hunt down all stray shinma and send them back to the darkness.

Kaname Kuran (玖蘭枢) is a pureblood vampire, who saved Yuki Cross from an attack by a Level E when she was five years old. Kaname is also a main male who protagonist, Prior to his re-awakening, Kaname was the first king and the founder of the Kuran family. He is catogrized on the year of the Rooster.

He is normally a stoic and authoritative individual, but is very kind, warm, and gentle to Yuki. He is very strict and often imposes discipline in a fierce way. Yet he is indulgent to Yuki, even though she tends to put herself in danger. Kaname never hides the fact that he is not interested in anything else but Yuki’s welfare. Every action he makes is towards one goal, and that is Yuki’s happiness. Kaname’s love for his sister cannot be reached beyond the depths of the abysses in the monster world they live in. The brotherly love is only a faint reflection of the intensity of feelings and bliss he feels whenever he is with her. Kaname sacrifices everything for her and this shows how deep his love for her is. He is very determined to have Yuki live for all of eternity by his side and deeply fears losing her as he did for the ten years she spent as a human. He was thirteen years old when his family was attacked and Yuki was five years old.He seems to frequently plots things in secret making him rather secretive and mysterious.

His height is 186 cm (6' 1.4"). He is slender and lean and has a pale complexion like the rest of the vampires. He has long, thin, deep red-brown hair, with long bangs and reddish brown eyes. He shares a similar appearance with Haruka Kuran.

Kaname is the class president of the Night Class, both feared and respected by the other Night Class students. While he is cold and authoritative towards his contemporaries in the Night Class, he is always kind and sweet to Yuki. Kaname has shown that he cares for Yuki in a romantic sense and that he had fallen for Yuki ever since they were children. He wants to be closer to her, but senses how shy she is about it. Since he adores her, she is reluctantly accepted by the Night Class. He has attempted countless times to expand intimacy with Yuki. He is also Yuki's fiancée and Yuuki knows him as her brother.

As a Pureblood, Kaname is capable of controlling lesser vampires, but he chooses not to exercise his powers, thus earning the respect of the Noble vampires. He shares the Chairman's hopes for peace between vampires and humans. He worked with the Chairman to create the Night Class at Cross Academy and with his presence, allows the Night Class to be kept in check. But the real reason Kaname agreed to attend the academy is so that he can be near Yuki and protect her.

Kaname tells Zero that he only allows Zero's existence by Yuki's side to ensure her safety and is envious that he cannot protect her himself.

To protect Yuki, Kaname kills Shizuka Hio. He promises Shizuka that he will destroy that which ruined the destiny of the purebloods. He drinks her blood in order to gain power to protect Yuki. He asks Yuki to be a vampire and live with him for all of eternity by his side, but stops himself from biting her. Troubled by her forgotten past, Yuki attempts to ask Kaname to tell her about her past. Kaname bargains the answer in return for her becoming his lover. Yuki admits she loves him and agreed to his proposal, but when she did not get an answer, she attempts to remember on her own, causing her to receive waking nightmares. Shortly after this, Kaname finally bites Yuki in order to awaken her as a vampire and feeds her his blood in order to revive her memories as a Kuran. They are reunited as siblings and fiancés, though she still does not know the truth about who he really is. Kaname reveals to Ichijo that he is not Yuki's brother and is really the ancestor of Kuran (not completely related to Yuuki, therefore not really brother/sister) and was resurrected by Rido Kuran to be his strongest slave, therefore making Rido his "master. Juri and Haruka Kuran raised Kaname as Yuki's brother, in place of the son that Rido took and used as a sacrifice to revive Kaname. Kaname and Yuki planned to marry as children, following the example of Juri and Haruka who were also siblings and married.

Kaname convinces Zero to drink his blood to stave off insanity, slowing Zero's decent to a Level E vampire. He reveals that he has been preparing and strengthening Zero so that he can kill Rido and free Kaname from Rido's curse.

When Rido resurfaces at Cross Academy, Kaname attempts to remove Yuki from danger. Her refusal to leave upsets Kaname, but she kisses him in order to console him and convinces Kaname to go do the things that only he can do. Kaname went to the vampire council, where he summoned the vampire council members and killed all of them except Asato Ichijo, whom he trusted Takuma to deal with.

Kaname returns to Yuki's side and attacks Zero for pointing his gun at Yuki, he reverses his decision to kill him when he realizes Yuki will not forgive him for it. After their goodbye, Yuki and Kaname return to the Kuran mansion via a hidden entrance. While Yuki does not leave for the year, Kaname frequently leaves to resolve the issues of the vampire society and working to regain his allies.

Kaname is acknowledged as the leader of the vampire society and he meets with the vampire hunter association and they agree to resume their agreement. Kaname holds a ball and finds himself confronting Sara Shirabuki there. The party is disrupted by the death of a pureblood vampire and a hunter. Kaname investigates and presents a cover story of suicide. Upon returning home, he declares that he will take over Yuki's education.

Kaname spends most of his time in a hidden place inside the Kuran mansion. It is revealed that Rido is still alive because he stills has a link alive. Rido teased Kaname about his loneliness without Yuuki and his past. It turns out the Rido took Juuri's and Haruka's son (Yuuki's real brother) and replaced him with the soul of the ancestor or first king of the Kuran (the Kaname, we know now). Yuuki's real brother and Kaname the first king of the Kuran both share the same name.

Tamaki Suoh
The president of the Host club and the Prince type. He is extremely passionate and kind, always ready to help people, and has an interest in many things. He is considered the most attractive of the hosts. He is also very intelligent (2nd in his class behind Kyoya), and a gifted piano player. He is very sincere in what he says, and takes his role to please girls very seriously, which stems from his deep love of his mother. Eighteen-year-old Sophie Hatter, who runs her late father's hat shop, encounters the mysterious wizard Howl by chance. He takes a liking to her. This attracts the attention of the Witch of the Waste, who has been seeking Howl's heart for herself. She curses Sophie, turning her into an old woman. As the curse prevents her from telling anyone of her true form, Sophie decides to run away. Along the way, she befriends an animated scarecrow she names Turnip Head and they come across Howl's castle. Once inside, Sophie meets the fire demon Calcifer who powers the castle and recognizes that Sophie has been cursed. Calcifer offers to break the curse in exchange for Sophie's help in breaking the pact between him and Howl. When Howl appears, Sophie announces that she is the castle's new cleaning lady. Howl sends Sophie as his mother to decline. At the palace, Sophie runs into the Witch of the Waste, who upon confrontation reveals that she cannot reverse the spell she cast on Sophie. As Madame Suliman is against the forming of pacts between sorcerers/sorceresses and demons, she punishes the Witch by draining all of the latter's power. Losing her (more) youthful facade, the Witch returns to her true age, and becomes a seemingly senile old woman. Suliman tells Sophie that Howl will meet the same fate if he does not contribute to the war. As she is telling Madame Suliman that Howl is kind (albeit selfish and cowardly) and has noble intentions, Sophie briefly reverts to her youthful self. She turns back into an old woman when Madame Suliman mockingly states that Sophie is in love with Howl. Howl then arrives to rescue Sophie, with the Witch and Suliman's asthmatic lapdog Heen tagging along. He gives Sophie a magical ring that would guide her to Calcifer. Suliman, knowing Sophie's true identity, begins tracking her to get to Howl.

Sophie learns through Calcifer and dreams that Howl transforms into a bird-like creature to escape pursuers and interfere in the war, but each transformation leaves it more difficult for him to return to human form. Howl shows his appreciation for her by transforming the castle so that it becomes neater, more pleasant, and can lead to Sophie's old home as well as Howl's childhood residence, which he gives to Sophie as a present.

She is actually under Suliman's threats, and the former Witch of the Waste discovers the spying "bug" Honey leaves behind in her bag. She also finds a cigar which she begins to smoke, not realizing that the smoke from the cigar weakens Calcifer, making it harder for him to protect the house from being discovered by Suliman's henchmen. Howl transforms and draws the guards away, while Sophie and Calcifer bring the castle to the Wastes though Calcifer's power is rapidly fading due to ingesting the spying "bug". The Witch of the Waste sees Howl's heart in Calcifer's diminishing flames, and grabs it. To save her from burning, Sophie douses her with water. Calcifer is reduced to a small, blue flame, and is no longer able to properly support the castle. The castle breaks apart, and Sophie and Heen are thrown over a cliff.

Sophie recovers in tears, believing that she has killed both Calcifer and Howl, as their lives are interconnected. As she is sobbing, Howl's ring points to the remains of Howl's castle door; she walks through it. She finds herself in Howl's past, where she sees Calcifer being caught by a young Howl as a falling star. To save Calcifer's life, Howl gives his heart to him and thus loses the ability to love. As the ring disintegrates, Sophie is pulled back into present time: before leaving she tells Howl to find her in the future.

Back in the present, Sophie finds Howl and realizes that he has been waiting for her all along. He carries her to the others and then collapses. She takes Howl's heart from the Witch and puts it back in his chest, breaking the bond between Howl and Calcifer. Calcifer returns to his original form and flies away. The remains of the castle, no longer powered, slide down the cliffs. Turnip Head stops the fall and saves everyone, but is damaged. Sophie gives him a kiss, and he transforms (back) into the missing Prince Justin. The Prince thanks Sophie for breaking the curse as his true love, but Sophie then kisses Howl, her true love. By now, she has fully transformed back to her youthful self but in hair color, which remains gray. Prince Justin leaves to put an end to the war. Madame Suliman, who has been watching through Heen's eyes, orders her subjects to cease fire. Later, Howl, Sophie, and the others are seen aboard a new, flying castle powered by Calcifer of his free will. Howl and Sophie embrace and kiss.

Toradora!'s story begins with the male protagonist Ryūji Takasu who is frustrated at trying to look his best as he enters his second year of high school. Since Ryūji spends a lot of time with Taiga, he has opened up to her world and to a side of her that most people do not see. The two also try to help each other improve the way people view them. However people they know from school start to become curious about their strange relationship and rumors begin to spread about them behind their backs. Ryūji and Taiga start getting along more and end up together at the end of the series.

Osamu Tezuka drew on his knowledge as a physician in writing Black Jack, and the manga contains frequent medical details. For the most part the story of both the manga and the serializations is the same, with only the second serialization (known as Twin Knight) and to some extent the fourth serialization being significantly different.

Taking place in a medieval fairy-tale setting, Princess Knight is the story of young Princess Sapphire who must pretend to be a male prince so she can inherit the throne (as women are not eligible to do so). This deception begins as soon as she is born, as her father the King announces his baby is a boy instead of a girl. The reason for this is that the next-in-line to the throne, Duke Duralumon, is an evil man who would repress the people if he were to become king, and because of this the King will go to any length to prevent him from taking over.

Princess Sapphire has a pint-sized sidekick in the form of Choppy, a young angel-in-training out to earn his wings. When she was born, Choppy accidentally gave Sapphire the blue heart of a rambunctious boy as well as the pink heart of a prim and proper girl, and so God sent him down to Earth to sort out the mess and retrieve Sapphire's extra heart. Choppy is stuck inside a rather weak mortal shell, and cannot go back to Heaven until he's fixed things. Sapphire won't let Choppy remove her blue boy's heart, however. As a result, Choppy is pretty much stuck with Sapphire (although he doesn't really mind).

Sapphire and Choppy experience a variety of fairy tale and political adventures, including encounters with ice witches and anti-Royal revolutionaries. Sapphire also dons a Zorro-style mask at night and fights crime as the Phantom Knight. She also spends a lot of time foiling Duke Duralumon's schemes to take over the kingdom, as well as his attempts to prove that Sapphire is really a girl (and thus discredit her as the heir to the throne).

The bright and colorful animation style of Princess Knight is comparable to that of Disney,[14] à la Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Some mature themes also crop up occasionally. There are several references to God, Satan, Heaven, and Hell. Also, in the final episodes, the story arc is resolved and many major characters are killed on screen (although the main principals make it out okay in the end).

Ayu Tateishi is a well-adjusted 7th grader, until the fateful day when she finds a dejected looking Nina Sakura outside of the school. Nina explains that she lost something very dear to her earlier that day. Ayu offers to help Nina look for her lost item,but Nina seems reluctant to say what the item is that she lost, and runs off. On her way home Ayu finds what seems to be a mini-computer underneath the bench she knew Nina to be at earlier that day. In order to see if Ayu is trustworthy, she starts to follow Ayu around and eventually decides she can trust Ayu. Nina reveals that she is actually from the Magic Kingdom and is a magic girl. Ayu herself had always shunned the ideas of magic and fairy tales, even admitting she had never read Harry Potter, so having someone tell her they are a witch truly isn't something she can easily accept. After several mishaps with her magic, Nina proves she is a magic girl, and a failure who is coming to Earth as her last chance to prove that she can get things right. These first mishaps and the fact that Nina has shared her secret with Ayu, Nina attaches herself to Ayu as a friend and does everything she can to help Ayu with getting the attention of the boy she loves. As their adventures continue many friends from the magical kingdom come and visit Nina to the chagrin of Ayu.

The anime adaptation has a very different plot starting after Ayu and Nina have first met.

Instead of coming as a witch failure who is trying to prove herself to be more than she is said to be, Nina has come to earth to find the five "Holy Stones". She tells Ayu that whoever collects all five will qualify to marry the prince of the Magic Kingdom. Nina's childhood friend Maya is also on earth from the start, competing with Nina to find the stones.Though Nina does collect them all first she learns that the prince and Maya are truly in love with one another, so Nina gives up the stones and her dream allowing Maya and the prince to be with one another.

While flamboyant and narcissistic (Suō means "rightfully becoming king" or "to become a king"), he is dedicated to his duties as a host. He is the Prince type to "entertain" customers. He is partial to classic piano music and plays exceedingly well, one of his favorites being Mozart's Sonata for Two Pianos in D major. He, like Honey, also has a stuffed animal: a teddy called Kuma-chan ("Beary" in English; kuma being Japanese for bear) though it is not shown very often.

The main comic relief character of the series, Tamaki can be viewed as outspoken and naive for his age, especially since he only views himself as an obsessive father figure to Haruhi, when in reality he's in love with her. Mei (as well as Honey) points out his naivete when it comes to how he truly feels about Haruhi, and the rest of the club sees this too; this applies to his overall dense approach to his own feelings though he is very perceptive about other people's, which is mentioned by the twins but several other members of the Host Club as well. He often gets jealous of other boys who get close to her and admires her when she shows her natural abilities. Haruhi eventually realizes that she is in love with Tamaki, while Tamaki only realizes the depth of his true feelings further into the series.

Tamaki is half-Japanese and half-French, and lives with his father, the wealthy superintendent of Ouran Academy. They both live separately from his French mother because of a deal between his mother and his bitterly cold paternal grandmother. Despite his grandmother being the reason he can't see his mother, he is very gentle to her, and is constantly trying to get her to accept him as a part of the Suoh family. As of the latest manga chapters, he has befriended and become close to Megumi Kanoya, a new Ouran student, who is suffering from family troubles and who he realizes is someone he cannot help because she is even worse off than him. He has rejected her twice but his feelings toward her appear to be extending once again into a protective family-type of assurance. His family name is romanized by VIZ Media as Suoh and by Chuang Yi, Funimation, and Nippon Television's Japanese-language website as Suou. His full name is revealed, in chapter 55, to be Rene Tamaki Richard Grantaine. At the end of chapter 64, he finally realizes that he loves Haruhi. Not as a "father", but as a man (chapter 67).

The series was adapted in 1983 into a TV anime series, Lady Georgie (レディジョージィ, Redi Jōjī?), by Tokyo Movie Shinsha, which originally premiered across TV Asahi and spanned 45 episodes. It is currently airing across Japan on the anime satellite television network, Animax.

Georgie lives in Australia. She is blamed for her father's death. He loved her very much, and so did her brothers. Something she noticed about her family was that they all had brown hair, but she was blonde. The mother did not like her living as a family member. Eventually she broke the news that Georgie was not part of the family; she was adopted. A gold bracelet is her only clue to the past. She also gains information of her birth parents who are British. Her brothers (Abel and Arthur) go with her to London to find her past. Both brothers seem to love her, with mixed feelings about being their adoptive sister. Georgie also has another goal: to find her lost love, Lowell, who had left Australia. Along with her brothers, Georgie experiences both the kindness and cruelty of the real world in London, England.

The series was licensed for an English language release in North America by Del Rey Manga and in Singapore by Chuang Yi — under the name My Fair Lady.

The Wallflower is about a girl who was called "ugly" by a boy, the first and only person to whom she confessed her love. This incident sparks a life change, and as a result Sunako shuns all forms of beauty, both in herself as well as in life. Concerned by her change for the worst, Sunako's aunt, the owner of a beautiful mansion where four very handsome students live, offers the guys free rent in her mansion if they can turn Sunako into a "perfect lady" (referred to in Japan as the titular Yamato Nadeshiko).

While the four of them manage to make Sunako physically beautiful enough to become a lady, the problem lies with her attitude and interests (which Sunako has no intention of changing). Up until the most recent release in the story, they've managed to convince Sunako's aunt that her niece is indeed a lady befitting the mansion in which they live (and prevent the rent from skyrocketing to triple the required amount). As a result, she does not know how to respond to Chiaki's advances. Eventually, she realizes that Chiaki is not a bad guy after all. She is deeply hurt, however, when she learns that Chiaki is her rival, Sinbad, and that he only went after her because he knew she was Jeanne.

She is found by Hideki one night in a pile of trash as he makes his way home from work. He takes her to his apartment and tries to figure out how to activate her. A typical persocom (abbreviated from "personal computer") has its power switch in or behind its ears, but Chi's is located in a very unorthodox place: her vagina. Realizing this, Hideki overcomes his moral objections and manages to activate her. She has difficulty communicating with him at first; the only word that she is able to say being "chi". She is initially fearful that Hideki will discard her because of this, but he reassures her that he would never throw her away. When Hideki decides to give her a name, he remembers the only word that she can say and decides to call her "Chi".

Chi remembers nothing of her past life and is unable to perform simple tasks, so Hideki takes it upon himself to teach her and take care of her. Mimicking Hideki and several other outside influences, Chi proceeds to start learning about the environment around her. She makes many humorous mistakes in the process, including her imitation of a pornographic pose from one of Hideki's magazines, and calling everyone and everything "Hideki".

However, the general peacefulness of her life is disrupted with the arrival of a new transfer student, Kenta Usui.

Any time she goes near him her blood increases. At first she tries to avoid him but it doesn't work since they are in the same class and work in the same restaurant. Kenta begins to think that there is something fishy about Karin and eventually he learns her secret. Karin's elder brother Ren tries to erase his memory but Anju, Karin's younger sister, stops him from doing so. She also convinces their parents Henry and Calera to make Kenta their ally, because he can help Karin during the daylight. Karin and Kenta become friends. Kenta helps Karin clean up the mess made by her nosebleeds and Karin prepares him a lunch box (bento) every day.

As the story progresses, Kenta and Karin's attachment to one another grows, and so do their problems. First, Karin's grandmother, Elda, breaks free from her coffin (which Calera had sealed her into) and starts wrecking everyone's lives. Except for her bust size, hair length, and hair color, she looks identical to Karin, and uses this resemblance to go unnoticed in Karin's school.

She attempts to drink Kenta's blood because she believes humans and vampires cannot coexist. Eventually, she gives up and returns to her casket. Soon after, a new girl begins working in the same restaurant that Karin and Kenta work in who is later revealed to be a half-human/half-vampire hybrid.

In the anime adaptation, an additional character, Winner Sinclair, is added to the series. Winner is a vampire hunter who falls in love with Karin, while Karin's best friend, Maki Tokito, falls in love with him.

Naruto is a very well-known Japanese manga (comic) and anime (animation) series, both in the US and across the world. The series, both manga and anime, have created a phenomenal success throughout the world, especially amongst teens and young adults. The manga has been running since 1999 and has had up to Volume 46 as of May 1, 2009, while the anime has been airing since October 3, 2002 in Japan and is still showing on TV Tokyo as of now. The series quickly gained its fans because of its story, which the main character, Naruto Uzumaki, had to go against all the odds in order to reach his dream and to protect the bond he has with his lost best friend. So many people could relate to Naruto's hardship in life, and to some point idolize him. The characters around him played really important parts in the story. Amongst these characters is his teacher, Hatake Kakashi. Hatake Kakashi is one of the most popular characters in Naruto series. Apart from his parts in training and teaching Naruto both physically and mentally, which played the important part in Naruto's growth throughout the series, he became really popular amongst the fans because of his laid-back character. The story concerns Sumire Iwaya, a journalist at a major newspaper. A career woman in a society that does not handle successful women well, Sumire suffers from depression and anxiety. She also has hobbies that are very un-feminine, such as being a fan of pro wrestling, K-1, and shōnen anime.

After her fiancé leaves her for his mistress and Sumire is demoted at work, she stumbles across a young injured homeless man in a box outside her condominium. She takes him in and becomes attached to him. As a joke, she says she wants to keep him as a pet. To her surprise, the young man agrees. She names him Momo, after her beloved dog from childhood. Sumire provides room and board, and Momo provides unconditional love and loyalty. Sumire says there is no sex in their relationship, and she will only sleep with men who have the "three highs": higher pay, higher education and higher height (i.e. taller than her 170 cm.) Despite this, there is definite sexual tension in their relationship.

Sumire later learns that Momo's real name is Takeshi Gouda, and that he is a dance prodigy who studied classical ballet but was too short to take the lead roles. He switched to modern dance, and lived a semi-homeless life before meeting Sumire. When it is revealed that he and Sumire know one another, Momo passes himself off as Sumire's second cousin.

Complications arise when Sumire is reunited with the man with whom she was infatuated during her time at Tokyo University, Shigehito Hasumi. Hasumi meets all of Sumire's requirements. However, Sumire cannot quite open up to Hasumi-senpai, or give up her attachment to Momo. For example, Sumire lets Momo call her by her personal name, while she struggles to let Hasumi call her "Iwaya" instead of "Iwaya-san." Takeshi (a.k.a. Momo) starts to have feelings for Sumire-chan (Iwaya), as well and they began to have feelings that go way beyond those of a pet and its Master.

When Hasumi meets Momo, he recognizes Momo's face but can't put a name to him. When Hasumi does some research on Iwaya-san's so-called cousin, he discovers that Takeshi was a child ballet prodigy and becomes friends with him. Takeshi, of course, has to keep the fact that he is also "Momo" to himself, even when Hasumi repeatedly brings the topic of Sumire's pet up in their conversations.

Tsukasa's parents are killed investigating the murder of Ryuji's father, the leader of the Kuryugumi yakuza group. The deaths leave both Tsukasa and Ryuji orphans, with Ryuji succeeding the group as their third generation boss, the Sandaime. After catching the murderer, Tsukasa becomes indebted to Ryuji when her brothers eat a veritable fortune on his tab; he uses the opportunity to tie her into being his bodyguard until the debt is paid off. Intrigued by her, Ryuji increases her debt at every opportunity (including force-feeding her and causing her to break things), insuring that she will always be tied to him by the debt and thus by his side.

The story mainly centers around the developing romance between Tsukasa and Ryuji, which has a vast array of difficulties. Tsukasa, at her mother's request, grew up as a boy, and coupled with the fact that she has always dreamed of being a police officer, conflicts with Ryuji's position as the boss of the largest syndicate in the Kantō area of Japan. At the same time, Kuryugumi, as an extremely powerful yakuza group, has many conflicts and gang wars with other groups, making up the rest of the story's conflict.

Tokyo 2020 is, to a certain extent, a futuristic society, complete with flying skateboards, laser guns, and a variety of technologically advanced devices. There are also far fewer women than men, with a subsequently higher amount of violence against women. It is also an example of moral decay; the series opens with a girl being attacked, in broad daylight, and people apathetically passing by, stating that she should take care of herself. Tsukasa is the one who saves the girl instead. It is why Tsukasa terms it a "crazy" place, saying that people can change quickly in this strange environment.

The series is very light-hearted in nature and often quite bizarre. It concerns the adventures of a group of teenagers who live in Tomobiki, a fictional area of Tokyo in the Nerima ward (Takahashi's later series Ranma 1/2 also takes place in Nerima, which is where she herself lives). The name comes from the Rokuyō calendar, in which Tomobiki translates as "dragging friends along"; while that day is not especially lucky or unlucky, it will cause one's luck (whether good or bad) to transfer to another person. The name likely refers to how the arrival of Lum the alien has made the town a very weird place, with other aliens often visiting and various disasters befalling it, usually the local high school or protagonist Ataru Moroboshi's house, and usually having something to do with Lum and her friends. As such, it is a rather strange thing to name a town. The story centers around an extremely lecherous and very unlucky high-school boy, Ataru Moroboshi, and the bikini clad alien Lum.

On the first day of the story, Sakurambo (or Cherry, as he prefers to be known) suddenly predicts very bad luck to Ataru; upon returning home, the boy encounters a very nasty surprise: a party of oni aliens have come to conquer Earth. They give mankind a fighting chance, however; through the computer, they have randomly selected a human to compete against their representative in a game of tag. Should the chosen human - that being Ataru - win, they will withdraw. It turns out that his competitor is not their rather robust leader, but his daughter, the bikini and go-go boots wearing princess Lum. If Ataru can grab her horns (a characteristic of oni or ogres, in English) within ten days, he wins. However, Lum easily outruns him without even trying because she is capable of flight. After nine days, the whole world is beginning to feel highly agitated when he repeatedly fails to even touch her. But Shinobu, Ataru's childhood friend and current girlfriend, promises to marry Ataru if he catches Lum and saves the Earth. With newfound motivation, Ataru steals her top, tricking Lum into flying at him to get it back and thus catches her horns. In his moment of triumph, he yells "Now I can finally marry her!". Lum, misunderstanding this as immediate marriage, accepts his proposal on the spot amidst the general celebration that Earth is saved.

Lum falls in love with Ataru after he accidentally proposes to her, while Ataru is always chasing after every girl he sees (despite their not being interested in him) leading to Lum physically punish him with electric shocks, another ability of hers (in the story, flying and electricity are not related to any technology). Lum never calls Ataru by name, even to other people she calls him by the English word, "darling". This is the main reason for the many occurrences of the word throughout the titles and songs of the series. The series is heavily episodic, with only occasional plots spanning more than one chapter / episode. Each of these usually concerns Ataru's ill-luck, his lechery (and Lum's jealousy thereof) or the wide variety of weird humans and aliens who love, hate, or simply meddle with Lum and Ataru.

The manga series was given an English language release in North America by Viz Media, which started in 1999. Fuuko (or Fuu-chan for friends) is a lively girl starting her first year of highschool. Her life is turned upside down by the arrival of her new neighbors: the bishōnen Shinpo cousins, Daiya and Ichi.

Fuuko initially falls for the playboy Daiya. Unfortunately, her first love is an unrequited love. Daiya claims he does not know what 'being in love' feels like. Suffering from her first heartbreak, she receives unexpected support from Ichi. Although he seems cold, Ichi actually is in love with Fuuko. The two spend more and more time together, and Fuuko discovers she has feelings for Ichi too.

Only 'official' confessions away from being a couple, a woman from Ichi's past shows up. Iori-san used to work for the Shinpo family company. Back then, Ichi had fallen in love with her (even though she had a boyfriend, and was some years older than him). His infatuation was big enough to worry his parents, who had her fired. Now that she's back in his life, Ichi's feelings turn to her again. Not even his budding relationship with Fuuko can lessen his need to be with Iori. Fuuko can't deal with this and they part ways.

Fuuko is heartbroken again, but this time the pain runs much deeper. Her love for Ichi was more serious than her former crush on Daiya. Ironically, it's Daiya who supports her through these hard times. Ichi spends his free time with Iori, and Daiya tries his hardest to distract Fuuko. Slowly, Daiya is beginning to understand 'what it is to be in love', as he is falling in love with Fuuko. But she can't return his feelings, she is not over Ichi yet. At New Year, Daiya asks Fuuko if she wants to go out with him. Taking a fresh start, Fuuko accepts. Meanwhile, Ichi says goodbye to Iori, as he finally understands she only sees him as a little brother, while the one she really loves is her boyfriend. Fuuko and Daiya are getting along fairly well as a couple although sometimes Fuuko thinks of Ichi, remembering her lost love for him.

Then at the end of Volume 14, Fuuko is speaking with Ichi in the classroom when she falls and they accidentally kiss. Although the only person who saw was Fuuko's friend, Fuuko is extremely worried about Daiya finding out as she can't work up the courage to tell him honestly. She goes to see Ichi and begs him not to tell Daiya that it happened. Ichi agrees, but the cousins have a misunderstanding which leads Daiya to realize that something happened between Ichi and Fuuko. He finally confronts Fuuko about it and asks her why she didn't tell him from the beginning. Afterwards, they have a fight and don't talk to each other. The next night Fuuko comes out of her window and sees Ichi.

They start a conversation, but as they were talking, Daiya sees the two of them. He hides behind a car and thinks that Fuuko still has feelings for Ichi. Daiya, the next day, asks Ichi about any romantic feelings between Ichi and Fuuko, which causes a fight between the two cousins. Later, while Daiya is at work he is hit by a truck and is rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile Fuuko is making a knitted cap for Daiya. Although at the point Fuuko doesn't find out about the accident, she soon does and makes her way to the hospital with the knitted cap. Daiya is confirmed to be fine, but gets angry at Fuuko accusing her that she still has feelings for Ichi.

Fuuko throws the knitted cap at him and claims that she doesn't know what her feelings are at this point but when she was knitting that cap all she thought about was Daiya. The manga continues with the three friends continuing to be friends and getting along once again. At this point of the manga it leaves of with the secretary of student council seen to be copying Fuuko previous day's hairstyle. Guessed to be because of jealousy of Fuuko's friendliness of the two boys. The manga has recently begun to continue the plot from this point onwards.

Sensual Phrase (快感フレーズ ,Kaikan Furēzu?) is a shōjo manga series created by Mayu Shinjo. The manga was published by Shogakukan in Shōjo Comic between 1997 and 2000, and collected in 18 bound volumes. It was adapted as a 44-episode anime television series by Studio Hibari and as a series of novels. The series tells the story of Aine Yukimura, a high school student who becomes the lyricist for a Japanese rock band, and her relationship with the band's lead singer, Sakuya Ookochi.

To promote the anime, two real-life bands were formed: Λucifer, the band the story focuses on, and e.MU, a rival band. Both bands continued after the anime ended before disbanding. Within the series, Λucifer’s original name is Lucifer, which is changed to Λucifer (using the Greek letter lambda) when the band decides to go international. For the purposes of the article, the second name, Λucifer is used. Japanese names are given in Western order, with family name last.

Virginal Aine Yukimura is a quiet high school student who secretly writes raunchy song lyrics in hopes of becoming a song writer. One day she drops her lyrics and is almost run over by a car driven by Sakuya Ookochi, the lead singer for the hard-rocking band Λucifer known for their sensual lyrics. While helping her out, he ends up with a copy of her lyrics. Seeing her talent and desiring the girl, he campaigns for Aine to become the official lyricist for Λucifer. His manager initially objects, but when Aine continues producing excellent lyrics, he relents and she becomes their lyricist using the male pseudonym Yukihiko Aine to protect her identity.

Aine and Sakuya's relationship starts on rocky ground, with Aine in love with Sakuya but thinking he only because she's a virgin and writes dirty lyrics. When he rejects her sexual advance, this only furthers her belief until he writes a ballad for her called "Little Bird" in which he expresses his own love for her. However, being the girlfriend of a high profile star is not an easy task. Aine is almost immediately targeted by jealous classmates who are fans of Sakuya's with Sakuya finally having to step in to put an end to things when they go so far as trying to get Aine raped. As the series progresses, Aine is frequently targeted by Sakuya's enemies including rival bands and obsessed fans. In particular, his half-brother Ralph uses blackmail to take Aine from Sakuya temporarily, forcing Sakuya to face his father, who raped his mother. Knowing his father prefers him, Sakuya bows his head to him and learns the family business, giving him the power to get Ralph to back off. However, Ralph continues attempting to woo Aine, having fallen in love with her during the time he held her captive and refused to submit to him.

Λucifer continues to grow as a band, moving from an independent band to major hit, including tours in America and Europe, while Sakuya and Aine attempt to balance their love and professional lives. As the group continues to grow, the president of Λucifer's parent label grows to dislike the band's success overshadowing the main label's act. He brutally rapes Aine to break Sakuya. Sakuya nearly kills him, until he is stopped by Ralph, and then quits Λucifer to take care of Aine, who is in a near catatonic state. When she attempts to kill herself, he cuts his own wrist telling her he will die with her if that's what she wants. Aine is able to snap out of her depression and begin healing emotionally, while they recover the broken pieces of their relationship. When Aine realizes Sakuya is trying to avoid music, she realizes he is afraid of her being hurt again because of him. She convinces him to return to the world they both love and after the tragic sudden death of the groups beloved manager, Λucifer goes on to perform their final concert in Japan before a big European tour.

While overseas, Aine studies to become Λucifer's new manager. At the end for the series, Sakuya and Aine are married with a son.

Akuma na Eros (悪魔なエロス ?, lit. "The Evil Eros"), also known as Virgin Crisis, is a shōjo manga series by Mayu Shinjo. It was serialized in 17 chapters by Shogakukan in the biweekly manga magazine Shōjo Comic in 2001, and collected in four bound volumes.[1] It depicts the romance between a high-school girl, Miu, and Satan.

Miu Sakurai is a high-school girl who is ashamed of her childish features, and believes they keep her from being noticed by her crush, Shion Amamiya. After praying in church has no results, she uses an old book she found to read an incantation that grants any wish, not really believing it will work. The spell summons Satan, who demands her virginity as the price of her wish. Miu is reluctant to agree, and tries to avoid him, but he claims he has already granted her wish. The spell doesn't work, however, due to Amamiya's being a Christian, so Satan turns himself into a high schooler named "Kai", and changes the memories of people around her to become her older brother. He also changes his crow Marupasu into a small boy named Tsubasa to be her younger brother. Miu grows confused as Satan continues to both seduce and hurt her, while claiming he will give her Amamiya's heart.

Amamiya's followers are upset by Miu's seeming to grow closer to their idol and bully her. Satan initially watches, intending for Amamiya to rescue her, but when Amamiya doesn't arrive in a timely fashion, he uses his powers to allow Miu to defeat her bullies. Amamiya arrives afterwards and is upset at her use of violence. Despondent and certain Amamiya now hates her, Miu finally gives in to Satan's demands and agrees to give him her virginity. Satan says he will take it on the night Amamiya confesses, then proceeds to help her win Amamiya's love. Along the way, Miu finds her heart thrown into confusion as she develops feelings for Satan. Amamiya's eventual love confession doesn't thrill her as she expected, and she realizes that she is in love with Satan. After school, Satan finds her in the church to begins making love to her, but is surprised to find her crying as she asks if he really will leave her afterwards and begs him to make her forget him.

Amamiya, having realized who Kai really is, breaks into the church and impales Satan with a sword. It is revealed that Amamiya is actual the archangel Michael, the only other person besides God to wound Satan. Having foreseen Satan's coming, Michael had assumed the form of Amamiya in order to wait for him. They battle in the church, and Satan is wounded after Miu tries to stop the fight and protect him. Michael prepares to send Satan back to Hell, but as he collapses he promises to take Miu's heart with him and tells her that he loves her. Miu runs to him and begs him not to leave, pledging her eternal love if he will stay with her. Michael admits defeat as he can not fight love. As he leaves, he says he hopes Satan will return to being the beautiful angel he once was. Alone again, Satan reverts back to his human form to claim Miu, but she faints from the excitement before they can finish.

In the morning, Miu wakes up to find people have forgotten her "brothers" Kai and Tsubasa. At school, she finds that Satan has now become her biology teacher, still using the same name. Tsubasa is now in her class as a high school student and assigned to protect Miu from any danger. Michael/Amamiya summons Seera, a half angel-half demon, to Earth and tells her about Satan being in love with a human woman. She summons Satan back to hell, infuriating him. Taking Miu along, he returns to Hell. Miu is hurt to learn that Seera is Satan's sex friend and runs off thinking Satan was toying with her again. Satan kicks Seera out of his throne room after telling her he will not have sex with her again.

Satan has Miu found and returned. After a bath, she is taken to his bedroom where Satan claims her repeatedly while Seera furiously listens outside. When they return to Earth, Seera follows and turns herself into a high school student at Miu's school. Michael asks her to partner with him, saying he can force Satan back to hell, but Miu must not be harmed. Seera attempts to get Satan to have sex with her, but he toys with her and warns her that she is just a toy and should obey. With her clothes still torn, Seera goes to Miu and claims Satan slept with her and that Miu is just a sex friend like her.

Michael finds Miu crying in a class room and kisses her, which Satan sees. After smashing the windows, he leaves. Miu follows but Satan is furious and tells her that he will call the Sabbat, a gathering of demons where he slept with Seera for show, and that Miu must attend to receive her punishment. There, he calls Miu from the crowd to be his consort and begins to take her in front of the gathering. Crying, she swears she has no betrayed his love, and Satan permanently closes the Sabbat then takes her inside where he makes love to her while calling telling her she is "precious."

Satan asks Miu to come to him with hell and become his wife, which would require her to die. He returns her to her room to think about it. Uncertain if she wants to leave her family and friends, she finds herself at the bookstore where she bought the magic book and learns that the book had been waiting for her and her meeting fated. Miu runs out of the store to find Kai, but iron beams fall from above and kill her. Michael, having realized Seera planned to harm her, arrives to find Death ready to take her soul to the realm of the dead, where neither angel nor devil could find her. He refuses to allow her soul to be taken, and uses his powers to disperse death. Satan discovers people have now forgotten Miu and Amamiya, as Michael erases Miu's memories and takes her to heaven to spend eternity with him.

After killing Seera for killing Miu, Satan goes to heaven to retrieve her. Though Michael attempts to woo her, Miu can't accept him, though she isn't sure what she is trying to remember. Satan arrives and as he and Michael battle, Miu's memories return and she runs to a badly injured Satan, growing wings of her owns and she covers him. Michael opens the way back to Hell for them, accepting that Miu will only be happy with Satan. At the end of the series, Miu leaves her life behind and joins Satan in hell where she becomes his wife.

The history of Sister Princess can be traced back to March 1999, when it first appeared in the monthly Dengeki G's Magazine. Originally, there were only nine sisters, not twelve. Readers were able to vote for their favorite sister and following the tremendous response from the fans, the magazine decided to serialize Sister Princess.

In March 2000, a decision was made to renew the series, this time by featuring the short letters that the girls wrote to their beloved brother. Three more sisters were added to the mix: Haruka, who came from Germany; Yotsuba, who came from England; and Aria, who came from France.

A year later, on March 8, 2001, the game version of Sister Princess — about the older brother spending a month with all twelve sisters, and featuring original artwork by Naoto Tenhiro—was released on the Sony PlayStation. Priced at 6800yen (9800yen for the limited edition), the game was the third best-selling title in Japan in its first week of release.

In July of the same year, a new series of stories began in Dengeki G's, right up till April 2002. While the magazine was preparing for yet another renewal of the Sister Princess stories for its May 2002 issue, a premium edition of the game (the original plus two other Christmas and Valentine side stories) was released for the Sega Dreamcast on Mar 28, 2002.

The portrayal of events in the first Sister Princess anime is not considered canon by MediaWorks or hardcore fans. It's more commonly accepted as an alternate universe setting. The Sister Princess RePure anime is more faithful to the original magazine stories than its predecessor, and was created to answer disappointed fans. In fact, the stories told in the "second half" of each episode are actually modified versions of the magazine stories or mini-novels. There is nothing in Sister Princess RePure that contradicts the games, magazine stories or mini-novels: thus it can be considered canon, despite not actually being so.

It's 9 o' clock in the morning. You begin your day with a routine breakfast and a shower and have big dreams. In Naruto's case, to be acknowledged by the villagers by becoming the hokage. So, while walking to the academy with proper attire along with equipment and forgetting the past and looking forward to a challenging future with a bright smile, what are the obstacles that Naruto must overcome to become the hokage:

Ninja Ranking System

Academy

The lowest level of the ninja ranking system in the Naruto world. The students learn through broad theoretical ninja abilities, also known as jutsus and perform basic jutsus such as the replacement technique whereby the user has the ability to replicate himself or other people that he desires to replicate. Students graduate from the academy by passing the final exam.

Genin

Achieved after graduating from the ninja academy by wearing a headband which symbolizes their respective village. The ninja's life begins here as they are exposed to different levels of mission and apply their jutsus during battles. Ninjas are expect to perform D rank jutsus like simple replication technique.

Chuunin
After a few missions, the students would enter into the chuunin exams divided into 3 stages; multiple choice test, forest of death and sudden death tournament to complete the whole exam.

The exams are slightly different to genin as the ninjas have to work together in order to accomplish their common goal.

For instance, in Forest of Death, both Sasuke and Naruto combined their efforts to overcome a group of ninja from the rain village to gather one of the scrolls required in the mission.

The exam also test the ninja's ability to make the right decisions and working as a team.

Jounin

The jounins normally perform B rank jutsus and have the responsibility to protect the village as a whole. They also have to seek new missions and lead their own team like for example, Kakashi of Team 7, Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura. Some jounins tend to participate in specialized jounins or ANBU which is a group that conduct top secret missions and must conceal their true identity from the other ninjas.

Kage

The highest ranking ninja in the Naruto world. Ultimately posses all the rank jutsus from A to S but more commonly posses the A rank and S rank jutsus also known as kinjutsus or "forbidden" jutsus which cause harm to the user. The most notable example is the sealing jutsu performed by the fourth hokage in sealing the kyuubi into Naruto's body. Other examples are Naruto's ability to perform kage bunshins and the cursed seal technique performed by Sasuke.

Also known as one of the most powerful ninja in one of the 5 powerful countries; Konohagakure (Hokage), Sunagakure (Kazekage), Kirigakure (Mizukage), Kumogakure (Raikage) and Iwagakure (Tsuchikage).

The leader of the ninja society, treated as being equal with the rulers of their country, oversees the activities of their villages, sometimes consult with the higher ups people, sending and allocate teams into missions and making decisions regarding the safety of the village.

But what's the bigger picture for the village?

Only a few elite ninjas achieve the ultimate position along with equipping powerful jutsus, bloodline limits and forbidden techniques. But being at the highest level like for instance, the hokage is not just about having knowledge on all types of jutsu as Sarutobi, the third hokage once emphasized that being the hokage is about relentless determination and willing to sacrifice for others to pass on to the newer and ever stronger generations.

The anime has been deemed first class, and I am going to tell you the five best things about Naruto.

1) The perseverance the main character, Naruto, shows during the series.

Though not born with exceptional abilities like some other ninjas in the village, and being considered the clumsiest ninja of the village, Naruto never shows any sign of discouragement. In fact it just motivates Naruto in order to pursue his dream
and make the other villagers recognize his abilities.

2) The importance of friendship.

During the series Naruto gives special importance to the bonds he initially formed with his companion Uchiha Sasuke. Naruto never forgets his friend, even though Uchiha Sasuke appears to have forgotten about Naruto. Naruto will not ever give up on his dream of making his old friend Sasuke return to the village.

3) The amazing number of techniques the series presents.

Naruto presents a lot of original techniques called "Jutsus", which the ninjas use in order to fight each other. These "Jutsus" are invoked by performing certain hand seals, and most ninjas have at least two, or three original "Jutsus" in their
repertory

4) The complexity of the story, which makes the series almost unpredictable.

Unlike most Animes, Naruto is almost unpredictable. Something that the series presented and you accepted as a reasonable piece of the story could be AMAZINGLY proved wrong later on the series, which adds emotion to the Anime.

5) The diversity of the characters.

Bitching about the death of Kakashi

Hooo!!!! The recent developments of Naruto, one of my favorite manga along with Bleach and One Piece, had me baffled with no end. In fact, I am getting a bit pissed at how the story is going. In part one, the thing that causes me such frustration is
the death of Kakashi, which is too sudden and a total anticlimax ending to the fight.

In Naruto manga chapter 423, Kakashi is in the midst of the fight with Deva Path Pain, when Chouji, his dad and two other ninjas (thereafter known as the Kakashi Team for easy reference) joined in. With the ability to repel and attract objects away from himself, Deva Path Pain is able to escape from any kind of harm. Then, as you go on to read, the Kakashi team figured out his power, the 5 secs interval between which he cannot use Shinra Tensei and succeeded in binding him with chains. Pain in Chains!

Then Kakashi charges in with a Chidori, but the previous Pain (the missile guy) comes in and blocks it for him. Kakashi is surprised, but still continues to charge in. As you can see, the Chidori went through him and was centimeters away from hitting Deva Path Pain. Double Kill!

However, this is where the controversy starts, the next two pages shows Naruto and his training. We will skip that. Suddenly, Kakashi is shown to be trapped under the rocks in the ground, with everyone else KOed. What the heck happened?

From the “I didn’t make it” comment by Kakashi, we can assume that he did not manage to hit Pain with the Chidori after all and was repelled by Shinra Tensei at close range, causing immense damage. However, it sure doesn’t seem like 5 secs had passed. Remember that the Chidori has enough power to rend through flesh like paper and from the time the chains are applied, Kakashi used Chidori immediately and even if the
missile Pain comes in and intervene, it should not amount to that long a time. This is how close they are from each other when Kakashi unleashed the Chidori (second panel). If it takes Chouji and his dad 1 sec to bind Pain (remember that they are
pulling on both sides), 2 sec for Kakashi to go through the missile Pain(since he already had the chidori charged up before hand, he do not need to waste time doing the seal), then they should still have 2 secs to spare. Even if they did estimate the
timing wrongly (meaning that the 5 sec interval should be a 4 sec interval), they still have one second to spare. Chidori unleashed!

Futhermore, why can’t Kakashi use the Chidori sword thing that Sasuke does? When you are in a bind and you know that your range cannot reach your enemy, the common thing to do is to extend your range right? Please don’t tell me that Kakashi cannot do
it, since he is the inventor of Chidori and since Sasuke can do it, I don’t see why he cannot. Sasuke's is so long!

Also, since Chouji and the others know Deva Path Pain’s ability, why can’t they do the chakra thing that Tsunade does on her feet to prevent Pain from attracting or repelling them away? For Kakashi, I can understand that he is airborne and thus cannot do that but for the rest, they sure can do it. After all, even a newbie ninja can do that (recall Sasuke at the Chuunin exam when he is using the Chidori for the first time). With them using the feet chakra thing, they should at least be able to move and possibly rescuing Kakashi and retreating. Instead, we see them floored (shown two pictures up). Remember that these are elite fighters of Konoha that we are talking about, professional ninjas who go on missions and fight. How is it that nobody did the feet chakra thing?

All this adds up to me not being convinced that Kakashi is defeated and died. In my opinion, it is the author Masashi Kishimoto’s need to kill off Kakashi for various reasons. Maybe Kakashi has to be removed as a character to show how powerful Pain is (which is totally not necessary since we know how Jiraya died fighting him, how the 6 Pains decimated the village and from the most recent issue, how he used a giant Shinra Tensei to destroy the whole village). Maybe Kakashi has to be removed because he is the next stated Hokage (high possibility) if Tsunade falls. Since he is stated to be the next Hokage, he has to die because the one who is going to come after Tsunade is our main character(Naruto). Since he has to die according to the author’s will, he needs to die by the hands of a uber powerful character, or it will not make sense. All the above are speculations anyway but I want to say that MasashiKishimoto is too hasty to kill off Kakashi with such a lame death.

Also, I am not sure about this but can one really die for overusing their chakra? As seen in Naruto manga chapter 424, Kakashi is still alive then but uses his last bit of chakra to save Chouji from the missile. For anyone who knows this, please tell me. Thanks a lot! I'll Die!!!

I know that in manga, one should not take such a “scientific” approach but I simply think that the author is not being very responsible to the readers by killing off Kakashi this way.

On a training journey in the Bayankala Mountain Range in the Qinghai Province of China, Ranma Saotome and his father Genma fall into the cursed springs at Jusenkyo. Although both initially refuse the engagement having not been consulted on the decision, they are generally treated as betrothed and end up helping or saving each other on numerous occasions. They are frequently found in each other's company and are constantly arguing in their trademark awkward love-hate manner that is a franchise focus.

The Ranma½ cast Ranma goes to school with Akane at Furinkan High, where he meets his recurring opponent Tatewaki Kuno, the kendo team captain who is aggressively pursuing Akane, but who also falls in love with Ranma's female form without discovering his curse. Furinkan serves as a backdrop for more martial arts mayhem with the introduction of Ranma's regular rivals, the eternally lost Ryoga Hibiki, the nearsighted Mousse, and Ranma's perverted grandmaster Happosai.
